Next Leeds Manager Odds: Who Will Lead Them Into Their Championship Campaign?
Patrick Vieira has emerged as the new favourite to become the next Leeds manager after a few leading candidates fell out of contention.
The best betting sites initially installed Sam Allardyce as the frontrunner, but he decided against leading the club into their Championship campaign.
Brendan Rodgers was also in contention before he returned to Celtic, while Steven Gerrard has also seemingly dropped out of the race.
Vieira is now the bookies’ favourite, but the former Arsenal captain could face competition from the likes of Daniel Farke, Scott Parker and Carlos Corberan.
We have rounded up the main candidates to land the job and provided updated odds from UK bookmakers.
Leeds United's Managerial Prospects: Patrick Vieira Leads the Race
Vieira is now the 6/4 favourite with football betting sites to take over as Leeds manager as they bid to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
The World Cup winner previously managed New York City FC and Nice, before taking over as Crystal Palace manager in 2021.
He made the Eagles very competitive during his time at Selhurst Park, but Vieira was sacked in March after presiding over a lengthy winless streak.
Yet his reputation was not damaged too badly by that episode, and he remains a deeply respected figure in the game.
Vincent Kompany - who briefly played alongside Vieira at Man City - led Burnley to the Championship title last term, and Leeds may hope for a similar result if they appoint Vieira.
Assessing The Next Leeds Manager Odds: Is Daniel Farke A Strong Contender?
Farke appears to be Vieira’s main rival for the job, as the German coach is priced at 9/4 with Bet365 to be in the Leeds dugout for the first game of the 2023/24 season.
He led Norwich to two Championship titles during his four-year stint with the Canaries, which began in 2017 and ended when he was sacked in 2021.
Farke struggled in the Premier League, but he always excelled in the second tier, and he led Norwich to a 97-point haul in the 2020/21 campaign.
Subsequent spells at Krasnodar and Borussia Monchengladbach did not work out, so he may be keen to return to a happier hunting ground in a bid to take Leeds back to the top flight.
Next Leeds Manager Odds Highlight Carlos Corberan's Potential Comeback
The West Brom boss is another Championship specialist, having excelled during a previous spell at Huddersfield.
The 40-year-old coach spent three years working under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds, so it is easy to see why he has been linked with the top job.
Rumours suggested that the club wanted him to replace Jesse Marsch in February, but he signed a new contract with the Baggies instead.
Corberan is still priced at 12/1 with Ladbrokes, but he has only been at West Brom for eight months, so it may be difficult for them to prise him away from The Hawthorns this summer.
A Closer Look At Scott Parker's Odds In The Race For The Leeds Manager Role
Parker is another intriguing candidate, as he has previously led Fulham and Bournemouth to promotion from the Championship.
The Cherries handed Parker his marching orders in September last year after he was heavily critical of the board’s lack of ambition in the transfer market.
He reappeared in Belgium, but his brief tenure at Club Brugge proved to be disastrous, and he was sacked after winning just two of his 12 games at the helm.
Parker, who earned 18 caps for England during his playing career, will now seek a new challenge, but he is unlikely to be given a job in the top flight.
As such, he may apply for the Leeds job and he is priced at 16/1 with William Hill to land it, which could prove appealing when you consider that Bet365 will only offer 8/1.
Next Leeds Manager Odds Update: Is Gary O'Neil A Realistic Contender
O’Neil is an intriguing long-shot for the Leeds job following his abrupt dismissal at Bournemouth.
He replaced Parker on a temporary basis in September 2022, and he was handed the full-time job after reviving the team’s fortunes.
O’Neil won 10 of his 34 league games with the Cherries, and steered them to a 15th-placed finish, which was impressive when you consider that they were the heavy favourites for relegation.
Yet they decided to wield the axe on O’Neil, bringing in the highly-rated Andani Iraola to replace him, so he now needs a new job.
He is just 10/1 with some UK bookmakers, but you can grab 20/1 at BetVictor, which looks pretty tempting.
Analysing The Next Leeds Manager Odds: Front-Runners And Dark Horses
Diego Flores, Bielsa’s former assistant at Leeds, Lille, Lazio and Marseille, is priced at 25/1 with betting apps to take the reins.
You can find 25/1 on Ralph Hasenhuttl and Paulo Fonseca, while Ruben Selles is a 33/1 outsider.
Former Leeds player Lee Bowyer has also drifted out to 33/1, while Darren Moore, Karl Robinson, Chris Wilder, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Regis Le Bris and Nuno Espírito Santo are all 40/1.
