Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters Odds: Katie Price To Face Fears On New Show?

The classic movie Jaws will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and to mark the occasion, ITV have commissioned a new reality TV show that will see stars come face-to-face with sharks.

Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters will be on our screens next year, and the best betting sites have been compiling a list of potential celebrities who might take part.

In the programme, stars will be tasked with diving with a different species of shark, and the breeds will get bigger and more dangerous each time.

Celebs will also face fear-inducing challenges throughout the series, which is filmed in the waters surrounding the Bahamas island of Bimini, where hammerhead, tiger and bull sharks all reside.

Hancock And Farage To Swim Alongside Mordaunt?

Former Conservative MP Penny Mordaunt is the initial 8/13 favourite to take the plunge and agree to appear on the show.

Mordaunt is said to be wanted by ITV bosses for the new programme, and the former defence secretary will no doubt be hoping there is a decent barrier between her and the sea monsters if she does take part in the show.

However, she may not be as frightened as some, because Penny has arguably already come across some sharks in her political career.

A political insider recently told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "We all thought Penny had escaped the sharks when she left Westminster."

Several other politicians could also swim alongside her, with former health secretary Matt Hancock 2/1 to take part, Nigel Farage is a 3/1 shot and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is 33/1

Should Donald Trump lose the upcoming US election then he may have some spare time on his hands and he could also face his fears.

Trump, who is 100/1 to appear on the show, previously admitted he is "not a big fan of sharks".

Someone who is no stranger to the water is former Olympic diver Tom Daley.

The Olympian also knows Mordaunt well after he mentored her and other celebrities on ITV's star-studded diving reality show Splash! in 2014.

Daley is 11/10 for a reunion with Mordaunt on the show and the retired diver is used to appearing with sharks on screen after making a cameo in movie Sharknado 5.

Other Sharknado Stars In Line For New Show

Like Daley, Katie Price also appeared in Sharknado 5 and she is 7/4 on specials betting sites to take part in Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters.

Price is no stranger to reality TV shows and if she is looking for another to tick off her list, then this could be right up her street.

Sharknado royalty Tara Reid, who has appeared in all six movies, is also thought to be in contention.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star was terrified when she and her Sharknado co-star Ian Ziering canoed above the aquatic beasts for a Shark Week TV special.

But she clearly has a soft spot for the sea monsters, because she has her own perfume called Shark by Tara.

Reid is 5/2 to swim with them in ITV's Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters and her pals and fellow CBB stars Jedward are 4/1 to join her.

Like Price, Jedward also appeared in Sharknado 5, as did TV presenter Kate Garraway (9/1) and models Caprice Bourret (5/1) and Samantha Fox (8/1).

Actress and model Hayley Hasselhoff is 10/1 to take part in the new ITV show after she made a cameo in Sharknado 4.

Sharks To Hassel The Hoff

But one Hasselhoff who looks more likely to appear in the new reality TV show is Hayley's father - David.

The former Baywatch star is 7/2 on betting apps to feature in the programme - and he knows all about shark encounters.

David - who appeared in Sharknado 3 and 4 - once had a terrifying tiger shark experience while shooting his show David Hasselhoff’s Sharkwatch for The Underwater Channel.

He previously told Hello! magazine: "Suddenly, a tiger shark loomed towards me - a big girl, around 10ft long.

"Although I’m 6ft and no lightweight, I felt as if I appeared nothing more than a snack to her.

"She opened her huge mouth. All I could see were rows of white razor-sharp teeth. I held out the bait, hoping that would keep her happy."

Fortunately, David's tactics worked and he lived to swim with sharks another day.

Other stars who could be in contention for the new series are celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (6/1) and actor Martin Clunes (7/1).

Both are celebrity supporters of Bite-Back, a leading UK charity dedicated to shark and marine conservation.

Ramsay has previously fronted Channel 4 documentary Shark Bait, which exposed the horrors of shark finning in 2011.

In the same year, Clunes starred in documentary Man to Manta, in which he scuba dived in the Maldives to find out more about what lies beneath.
