Tottenham vs Manchester United, Saturday 5.30pm (Sky Sports Main Event)

Spurs looked worryingly meek without Harry Kane in the side during last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Brentford, and aren’t expected to have made much improvement come Saturday.

Ange Postegoclou has plenty to do, and there’s a feeling his counterpart in the United dugout, Erik ten Hag, is further along the development journey with his team.

United arguably rode their luck against Wolves on Monday but don’t expect them to be quite so fragile this time.

Mason Mount could shine here, while Anthony Martial may come into the mix. Lisandro Martinez could be fit after being taken off with an ankle knock in the Wolves win, but £72m man Rasmus Hojlund is still some weeks away from being ready.

Spreadex tip United to win this at 13/10, with Spurs out at 19/10. Don’t expect too many goalmouth chances in north London – this could be a testy affair that is decided by one moment of brilliance.

The way Spurs are playing right now, it’s unlikely to come from them.

Tip: Man Utd To Win At 13/10

Manchester City vs Newcastle, Saturday 8pm (TNT Sports 1)

A rare Saturday evening fixture welcomes fans on Saturday, and this is a clash between two of the richest clubs on the planet.

It’s very hard to predict what will happen here, largely because Newcastle looked in fine form against lowly Aston Villa last weekend. Have they strengthened enough over the summer to genuinely challenge Manchester City this season?

Kevin De Bruyne’s injury doesn’t help City, nor does the fact they played Sevilla in Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup. John Stones is out of the weekend game, while Ruben Dias is a doubt. Suddenly City, even with Erling Haaland, don’t look quite so formidable.

The impetus is on Newcastle to show their mettle here. Newcastle were ruthless against Villa and Alexander Isak kept Callum Wilson out of the team.

With Harvey Barnes pushing for a start and Sandro Tonali nicely settled in, who is to say Newcastle can’t win this game?

Well, the bookies offer a dose of reality here. Newcastle are 17/4 in the fixed odds at Spreadex to claim three points, and City remain favourites at 13/20. Instead, goals could be where the value bet lies.

The Spreadex acca offer permits BTTS legs, and surely we’ll see both teams find the net on Saturday.

Tip: Both Teams To Score At 8/11

Aston Villa vs Everton, Sunday 2pm (Sky Sports Main Event)

It’s been a rollercoaster few weeks at both Villa Park and Goodison Park heading into the new season.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has kept fairly quiet in the transfer market, while Sean Dyche is struggling to spend money at Everton

The fact Ashley Young could be starting against his former club this weekend highlights the difference in expectations between these two sides this season.

Everton endured a miserable day of it last weekend as they lost 1-0 at home to Fulham. Villa, despite going down 5-1 to Newcastle and losing centre-back Tyrone Mings to injury, can at least look at this game as one to wipe the slate clean.

The problem is neither side look particularly threatening going forward. Ollie Watkins lacked service at St James’ Park and all the reward Neal Maupay got for leading the Toffees line on Saturday was online abuse.

Spreadex have gone 9/1 on 0-0 here and that isn’t a bad shout.

Tip: Draw At 9/1
