Tottenham Hotspur currently sit top of the Premier League table with Ange Postecoglou leading a revolution at the North London club.

No manager in Premier League history has enjoyed a better start to life in England’s top flight than Postecoglou, who has captured the imagination of the Spurs fans enjoying watching their team again.

It’s not just results that have been eye-catching. Tottenham are now playing a brand of attacking, entertaining football that’s in stark contrast to the approach favoured by Antonio Conte last season.

The best betting sites have now priced Spurs at 10/1 to win the Premier League title, which is six-fold increase since Postecoglou took over when they sat at odds of 66/1.

The James Maddison Effect

James Maddison has quickly become Tottenham’s creative core since joining from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has reached new heights under Postecoglou, registering three goals and five assists in just nine Premier League appearances this season. So much of Spurs’ attacking play flows through Maddison.

Maddison has established an understanding with Son Heung-min in the attacking third with the England international also comfortable playing in front of Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr in central midfield.

Postecoglou’s system needed an attack-minded midfield creator like Maddison to work. The £40m fee paid for the 26-year-old now represents a bargain.

Football betting sites have priced Maddison at 250/1 to win this season’s Premier League Golden Boot which makes him a long shot, but he consistently poses a goal threat for Spurs.

The Reinvention Of Son Heung-min

Last season, it appeared Son might have entered a terminal decline in his career.

The South Korean was a shadow of his former self under Antonio Conte, but has been revitalised by the appointment of Postecoglou.

Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich has liberated Son who now has more space to burst into as Tottenham’s new first-choice centre forward. Postecoglou has unlocked even more in his game.

Son is priced at 12/1 to win this season’s Premier League Golden Boot with only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah priced ahead of the South Korean forward.

Postecoglou has reinvented Son and is pushing the 31-year-old to get into the opposition penalty area more often where he can take up more goalscoring positions.

Kane would have performed the centre forward role in Postecoglou’s system in a different way and it’s possible Son is a better fit for this approach than the England captain who prefers to drop deep rather than burst in behind.

Ange-Ball Has Made Spurs A Must-Watch Team

Spurs fans expect their team to play a certain brand of football and Postecoglou has tapped into this desire by imposing an attacking, attractive style of play.

Only Aston Villa, Brighton and Newcastle United have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Spurs who have found the back of the net at least once in every match they have played.

James Maddison

Postecoglou’s trademark high-energy, high-risk style of play has been adopted remarkably quickly by the Spurs squad and this has made the North London side among the favourites to finish in this season’s top four.

While Tottenham started the season at 3/1 in the Premier League top four odds, they are now priced at 11/10 despite losing Kane along the way.

Postecoglou Maximising Underutilised Talent

Betting apps expected Postecoglou’s appointment to mark the start of a long and painful rebuild at Tottenham Hotspur. The squad he inherited from Conte was unbalanced and poorly constructed.

Postecoglou, however, has maximised the talent within his squad with several players utilised in a way that was never the case before the arrival of the Australian.

Bissouma and Sarr have forged a strong understanding in the centre of the pitch with the pair offering plenty on both sides of the ball. Postecoglou’s team is built around them as the double pivot.

Cristian Romero has become Tottenham’s defensive leader alongside summer signing Micky van de Ven with Emerson Royal and Pedro Porro both given a second chance to prove their worth.

Even Richarlison has been utilised by Postecoglou with the Brazilian forward capable of playing on the left side of the attack or through the middle where he carries an aerial threat.

Despite this, Tottenham’s relative lack of squad depth could cost them over the course of the campaign, although a lack of European football to clutter the schedule could work in their favour.
