The former heavyweight champion took to social media to post a video to fans where he revealed he has turned his back on the world of boxing, bringing an end to his illustrious career in the ring.
“Hi everybody, I’ll make this short and sweet, I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing," he said on Instagram.
“It’s been a blast and I’ve loved every single minute of it. I’m going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, I’ll see you on the other side.”

Fury has previously retired twice- first after defeating Wladimir Klitschko and later following his victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley- so it remains possible that he could return to the ring once again.
But there could now be a shift in focus for the fighter as he explores new opportunities in the months ahead.
Gambling.com have looked at what the multiple champion could do next after hanging up his gloves.
Tyson To Talk A Good Game
Tyson Fury certainly talks a good game and speaking about the sport that has brought him fame and fortune might be where his next opportunity lies.
His motor mouth has got him in trouble before, though, with a number of controversial comments landing him in hot water outside of the ropes.
But despite this, his knowledge of boxing and his way of words mean it’s 6/4 that we will see him in the commentary booth before we see him back in the ring.

AJ Prospect Could Prompt A U-Turn
Early speculation in 2025 suggested a potential showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua, a matchup that British boxing fans would love to see.
While there's still a chance the fight could happen, the absence of a title at stake might diminish Fury's interest.
Cynics could suggest that his retirement announcement was purely a way of negotiating a higher share of the purse should the bout ever happen and it’s 9/4 with betting apps that Fury vs Joshua does take place.
Promotion Could Be Where Fury's Future Lies
If a return to the ring is not an option, then it might be that Fury’s next move is to work on behalf of his fellow fighters.
His glittering career means he will be remembered as one of Britain's most decorated boxers, likely to be ranked among the country's top heavyweights alongside the likes of Lennox Lewis and Joshua.
Fury's career record currently stands stands at 34 wins, one draw and two losses from 37 professional contests – so dipping his toe in the promotion business at 3/1 could be a genuine possibility.
Could He Swap His Gloves For A Microphone?
Ever the showman, Tyson Fury was as comfortable in front of the camera as he was in the ring.
His personality and ability to deliver a line as comfortably as he could an upper cut made him a household name, and not just with fight fans.
With a presence that is already sky high thanks to a career in boxing, a move into television, currently priced at 4/1, would likely be an easier move than going down a weight division.
Reality Check For Former Heavyweight?
It would be no surprise to see Fury appear on a reality show in future with the boxer already a huge TV personality in his own right following the success of his own Netflix documentary, At Home with the Furys.
For that reason it's no great surprise to see him priced at 7/1 to appear on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, 10/1 for Celebrity SAS: Who dares wins and 15/1 for Strictly Come Dancing.
One of Morecambe's most famous residents, Fury is 20/1 to become the next owner of Morecambe Football Club.
