Gary Connolly - Key Accounts Manager – Sports Betting Integrity and Payments Expert

Gary has over 10 years working in the betting industry. A former finance and credit card analyst at the Bank of Ireland who joined the Irish Greyhound Board to tackle integrity and payment management; his talents were then concentrated on Customer Engagement with Betdaq and with the semi state authority at Horse Racing Ireland. At Gambling.com Gary is our key account manager across our biggest iGaming clientele and adds huge weight to our payments knowledge for all geographical teams.

Role at Gambling.com

At Gambling.com Gary is our head of key commercial accounts concentrating on the very best UK and Ireland betting and casino sites that we review and consider as recommended partners on our platform. With an extensive background in betting systems, clearance software, payment methods and a focus on gambling integrity, Gary brings with him a wealth of knowledge across customer satisfaction and process from some of the biggest industry sectors across sports betting and online gambling.

Day to day Gary liaises with some of our most established partners in vetting new offers, considering the merits of sign up process evolution, customer journeys and on boarding which all feed into our review and recommendation process here at Gambling.com. From previous experience in the banking sector, alongside working at the semi state bodies of the government authorities covering Greyhound and Horse Racing in Ireland Gary has been through many different stages of the online process for gambling with payment method integration, transparency and integrity in customer management and more.

Away from the desk...

Gary is a keen follower of most sports but with a dedicated passion for Horse Racing, UK and Ireland of course but also a soft spot for French racing and especially finding an angle for a winner. A few podcast appearances across the Racehour, some guest spots on Cheltenham Festival discussions are the normal course of events during the horse racing season but as a sports betting man anything will a ball also comes into consideration for betting interests.

"I've always been a massive sports fanatic since I was knee-high, so once old enough diving headfirst into the world of gambling felt like the logical career move. Fast forward to today, and I've amassed an impressive resume, having explored many facets of the betting landscape, from the glitzy casinos to the heart-pounding sportsbooks, the classic tote, and even the intriguing world of exchange betting. It's safe to say I've become something of a wagering chameleon.

In my spare time making a beeline for horse racing tracks or football stadiums whenever I can is the aim. But that's not all I do – I also wear a different kind of betting hat as the proud proprietor of a thriving horse racing tipster service. My focus there is the elegant world of French flat racing. Why limit ourselves to English-speaking horses when you can add a touch of je ne sais quoi to the mix.

In the grand scheme of things, my role at Gambling.com as a Key Account Manager for our biggest partners isn't all that different from my love for variety. My past experiences allow me to work closely with our partners, ensuring a smoother journey for our customers and a top-notch product that elevates our site to top of an ever evolving and competitive market. It's a bit like making a thrilling last-minute bet, with the stakes being customer satisfaction and sound, critical analysis and advice."
