We know how important it is to find the best online sportsbooks in each U.S. state. We've selected the top sports betting sites of April 2025, based on our personal experience using them, as well as feedback from our users.

1. FanDuel: Best Sportsbook for Today's Bettor (9.1/10)

Our Verdict: FanDuel leads the pack as one of the easiest, most seamless, and safest sportsbooks in the U.S. We love its user interface, large selection of payment methods, and easy-to-use live betting menus. It’s an industry leader for good reason.

Best for: We’ve found a lot of value in FanDuel’s odds for underdog bettors. That being said, it has been well-known in the gaming industry for a long time, and it's a go-to site for pretty much every level of bettor

Richard Janvrin
Richard Janvrin

It’s perfect: I love how the desktop site is set up. The FanDuel UX designers deserve a raise. After using it myself, I realized there’s no better online sportsbook today for a user experience.

Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane

FanDuel has something for everyone, making it the best choice for every experience level. The ongoing promos are consistent and rotate frequently, but there's no loyalty program, which is a miss for me. There is no phone support, which would be valuable to have but, the available methods have delivered favorable results when I've used them.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • App performs well on both iOS & Android
  • Excellent market coverage for dozens of sports
  • Easy-to-use website and app, especially for new bettors
  • Frequently offers odds boosts on selected bets
  • Strong live betting menu, which includes multiple in-game markets, game trackers, and live streaming
  • Has almost every feasible banking option imaginable for deposits & withdrawals, catering to a broad audience
Where it Falls Short
  • Lacks a specific loyalty program for sports bettors
  • Player prop markets are a bit limited compared to top competitors
  • No phone number available for customer support & it can be difficult to reach a service agent for help
  • Fewer ongoing promos for existing users than its competitors
  • Expanding accepted credit cards to include Discover & American Express would push it over the top

2. DraftKings: Easiest Sportsbook to Use (8.9/10)

Our Verdict: DraftKings offers one of the most complete, most intuitive betting experiences with one of the best selections of player props you’ll find. If you want to wager on props, there’s nowhere better than DraftKings.

Best for: DraftKings is best for low-friction bettors who want practical wagering tools and easy navigation.

Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane

Live betting at DraftKings Sportsbook is awesome. Betting markets like Flash Props allow you to stay engaged all game long. There are new daily offers, and they tie in with major betting events.

Richard Janvrin
Richard Janvrin

Odds tend to post and update quickly, but often get beaten out by other competitors. Occasionally, I'll find DraftKings not to have as much value. For example, Anytime TD props in the NFL: DraftKings is typically not my go-to for that kind of value.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Extensive betting menus across many sports, particularly for player props
  • Odds tend to be posted and updated quickly
  • Welcome offer requires minimal effort to claim as a player
  • Strong live betting menu, including live streaming and game tracking
  • Simple, easy-to-use rewards program
  • Provides multiple customer support options, including voicemail & requesting callback; easy to get in touch using live chat
Where it Falls Short
  • Promotions are typically weaker compared to competitors'
  • No phone number for customer service
  • Odds are not as competitive as they are at other sportsbooks

3. bet365 Sportsbook: Best Overall User Experience (8.9/10)

Our Verdict: Thanks to its global reach, bet365 is one of the best sportsbooks for market variety and international event coverage. It offers consistently competitive odds on an exceptionally wide range of sports. Plus, it has some of our favorite live betting features on the market, including Watch & Bet and live audio commentary.

Best for: This sportsbook will appeal to experienced bettors looking for sharp pricing.

Martin Booth
Martin Booth

If there’s an event taking place anywhere in the world that you want to bet on, the chances are that bet365 is the operator most likely to be offering odds on it.

Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane

This is probably my favorite sportsbook. bet365 gets rave reviews across the board for its customer service, payouts, promos, and odds. bet365's markets go deep and wide, including both major and niche sports.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Excels in customer service, offering a strong selection of contact methods, including phone support—a rarity among competitors
  • Broad and deep betting markets
  • Strong live betting options and features
  • More competitive odds than most other sportsbooks
  • Unique ongoing promos for existing users
  • Provides reliable and quick payouts
Where it Falls Short
  • No loyalty program for sports betting
  • No referral bonus, either
  • One-off daily promos leave much to be desired
  • Lacks Venmo for deposits & has fewer withdrawal methods than top competitors

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android, web

4. BetMGM Sportsbook: Best Market Depth (8.6/10)

Our Verdict: BetMGM offers a huge variety of betting markets, especially for hockey and prop bets. Live betting is easily accessible, just one of many features available on this trusted platform.

Best for: BetMGM is best for bettors who want good odds and real-world experiences. The MGM Rewards program is particularly well-suited for those who love finding value in their purchases.

Martin Booth
Martin Booth

The navigation does take some getting used to, with various ways of tracking down the sport and market you seek. There are also times when the app is a little sluggish, which is an important consideration, particularly for those looking to place in-play bets. The amount of live streaming available, despite recent upgrades, still lags behind some rivals; it would be good to see more live statistics available in the near future.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

You also have plenty of ways to take your money out, but the internal checking process here is a relatively laborious one. You may have to wait a couple of days before the withdrawn funds clear into your personal account.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Broad betting markets available
  • Solid live betting offerings
  • Decent odds pricing
  • Lucrative MGM Rewards program earns you bonus bets & real-world benefits
  • Easy to get connected with customer support via live chat
  • Offers more deposit and withdrawal methods than most competitors
Where it Falls Short
  • App can sometimes be glitchy or unresponsive; Design layouts and response times make the platform more difficult to use
  • Live chat support can be slow during peak times
  • Lack of live streams available compared to competitors
  • Encountered some issues when trying to apply promos from the homepage when logged in
  • Internal withdrawl checking process here is relatively laborious & can take several days

5. Fanatics Sportsbook: Best for On-the-Go Value (8.15/10)

Our Verdict: The mobile-only Fanatics Sportsbook offers a well-organized app with a solid betting market variety. Our favorite part about Fanatics is the FanCash Rewards program, which gives you cashback on every bet. It’s easily the most unique thing about an app that has the potential to grow into a truly elite sportsbook over time.

Best for: Fanatics Sportsbook is best for tech-savvy users who already have some experience betting and don’t need a desktop counterpart to their betting app.

Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane

FanCash is one of the most unique rewards programs in betting and can be very lucrative. There aren't many ongoing promos for existing customers, FanCash gives it an edge. Plus, other practices that would be "promos" in other places are standard operating procedure, like "Fair Play," which refunds player props due to first-quarter injuries.

Richard Janvrin
Richard Janvrin

I have no complaints about Fanatics' market availability, and I'm a big fan of the promotions Fanatics offers. I think the mobile app is laid out perfectly fine with the menu along the top and bottom, but I do feel like it gets somewhat cluttered as you move down the homepage.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Earn up to 10% FanCash back on every bet
  • Live betting & streaming available, including select NFL games
  • Relatively strong betting menus with guest appearances from celebrities
  • UX feels like using your favorite social media or sports news apps
Where it Falls Short
  • Fewer ongoing promos & boosts than competitors
  • Odds aren't as competitive as they are at other sportsbooks
  • Access to more banking options, including credit cards
  • Can be difficult to speak to a real representative when contacting customer service
  • Lack of niche betting markets

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android
  • Fanatics Sportsbook Promo: No Code Needed
  • Licensed Online States: AZ, CO, CT, DC, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV, WY

6. BetRivers: Most Well-Rounded Sportsbook (8.0/10)

Our Verdict: BetRivers Sportsbook has a well-rounded betting market and promotions menu, but its layout isn’t optimized for live betting or mobile use (yet). We love the iRush Rewards program, and we’d love to see even more upgrades here and in the user experience. Improvements to the tech would make a huge difference.

Best for: BetRivers is ideal for odds shoppers who can take full advantage of their iRush rewards points. BetRivers is also great for bettors who love same-game parlays. Most of their daily promotions for ongoing users center around parlays, so you can squeeze a lot of value from BetRivers.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

The app interface and browser-based site are not a direct match which does not make for a seamless experience. That being said, BetRivers generally has some of the best-priced odds you'll find, alongside a comprehensive betting menu.

Dan Moran
Dan Moran

The Site UX for BetRivers is not my favorite. The repetitive menus at the top of the main container and on the left-hand side of the navigation window confuse the user. It's nice that the menus are organized with a mix of sports and markets, with props and odds boosts pushed to the top.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Competitive odds
  • Strong loyalty program in iRush Rewards
  • Comprehensive, responsive customer support
  • Refer-a-friend bonus offered
  • Betting markets are fairly comprehensive
  • Now offers "Instant Betting" (aka microbetting)
Where it Falls Short
  • Mobile app and website don't match UX; site is harder to navigate than the app
  • Withdrawals often take longer than advertised, despite custom RushPay system
  • Lack niche sports offered by other sportsbooks, such as snooker, eSports, and cycling
  • Interface feels dated & doesn’t do its features, like pre-game and in-game stats, much justice

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android, web
  • BetRivers Sportsbook Bonus Code: GAMBLING
  • Licensed Online States: AZ, CO, DE, IL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, WV

7. Hard Rock Bet: Best for Casual Bettors (7.3/10)

Our Verdict: Hard Rock Bet is an uncluttered, quick sportsbook with an excellent live betting experience. Some of our favorite features include odds boosts, Flex Parlays, effective live chat, and quick payouts. We just wish it was available in more states, which would perhaps put pressure on Hard Rock to make some upgrades to help it stand out.

Best for: Hard Rock Bet is best for casual, tech-savvy bettors who prefer mobile betting.

Tom Ober
Tom Ober

The live chat was refreshingly quick and responsive, and agents seemed empowered (and knowledgeable enough) to deal with and handle situations quickly and easily. On top of that, they were polite, courteous, and friendly.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

While I'd love to see streaming options added, the live betting setup on Hard Rock is impressive. Odds (while not the most competitive) refresh quickly, and when live bets are submitted, they process instantly.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Strong, highly rated mobile app with quick payments
  • Impressive live betting offerings
  • Knowledgable, helpful, and friendly customer support, particularly through live chat & email
  • High-value daily odds boosts
  • Banking options are solid for deposits
Where it Falls Short
  • Sportsbook suffers from lack of competition in Florida
  • Odds aren't particularly competitive
  • Lacking in regular promos, including within the loyalty program
  • Customer support options are limited, with no phone support available
  • Debit card withdrawals not supported & some states don't accept debit or credit as payment methods

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android, web
  • Hard Rock Bet Promo: No Code Needed
  • Licensed Online States: AZ, FL, IL, IN, NJ, OH, TN, VA
  • Payout Speed: Within 24 hours
  • Rewards Program: Loyalty Rewards
  • Live Betting: Yes

8. Caesars Sportsbook: Best Market Breadth (7.1/10)

Our Verdict: Caesars Sportsbook is one of the most trusted names in gambling, and you can feel safe as a new user in one of the many states where it’s live. We love Caesars’ betting markets and odds boosts; in fact, it has some of the biggest and best boosts in the U.S. We wish the sportsbook had more: more promos, better app performance, more live betting options, and better odds margins.

Best for: Caesars is best for bettors who want to turn their bets into real-world experiences with the Caesars Rewards program. The program is well-suited for those who like to read the fine print of their benefits and can put them to use.

Tom Ober
Tom Ober

Some bettors seem to disagree with me, but I really like the less-is-more, simple style of Caesars' layout, navigation, and design. While researching the book, I read a fair number of reviews that point to lag, delays, or difficulty moving from section to section in the app, but I honestly haven't experienced this myself.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

If I'm looking to place an in-game wager, I'm likely looking for the bet I want at an alternate book.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • Impressive betting menus
  • Valuable daily odds boosts & other creative ongoing promos
  • Lucrative Caesars Rewards loyalty program
  • Strong NFL betting offerings, including live streaming, Watch & Bet, and creative promos
  • Various contact methods are available, including phone & live chat
  • Banking at Caesars is solid; supports all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Venmo, ensuring easy deposits
  • Instant payouts are available for select payment methods
Where it Falls Short
  • Long wait times for customer service help, particularly when using live chat
  • Odds aren't as competitive as they are with other sportsbooks
  • Lack of live streams outside of NFL
  • Often experiences loading delays on mobile
  • Apple Pay is not supported & withdrawal options are limited

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android, web
  • Caesars Sportsbook Promo Code: GAMBLINGDYW or GAMBLINGBG1
  • Licensed Online States: AZ, CO, DC, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VA, WA**, WV, WY (**only available online while on premises of designated retail locations)

9. Sporttrade: Best for Exchange Betting (6.7/10)

Our Verdict: Sporttrade is truly unique among U.S. sportsbooks; it’s the only major betting exchange platform in the country (so far). It presents an exciting alternative to traditional betting, but it still has some room to grow, like adding more markets and balancing iOS and Android functionalities, before it can compete with FanDuel or DraftKings.

Best for: This is an excellent fit for bettors who are already familiar with trading and want to extend it to their wagering. Sporttrade users tend to be experienced bettors who value transparency when odds shopping and can react quickly to changes in the market.

Martin Booth
Martin Booth

Buying and selling your position during a game, in the same way you would on a trading exchange, is fast and easy. But your experience of the Sporttrade platform may be determined by what type of mobile you use.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

Sporttrade presents lines as probability odds, which are easier to read and understand than traditional American odds that most U.S. sportsbooks use.

Pros & Cons

Where it Excels
  • As a betting exchange, offers better value on odds than traditional sportsbooks
  • Clear, transparent pricing displays positions as probabilities, which can be easier to understand
  • Customer support is professional, personable, and genuinely focused on user needs
Where it Falls Short
  • Payment methods are limited; only offers online banking, PayPal, and Venmo
  • Some app users report technical glitches and login issues
  • Layout can be slightly confusing, too
  • Limited markets, covering only 9 total sports/leagues and 4 bet types

At a Glance

  • Platforms: iOS, Android
  • Sporttrade Promo Code: GAMBL
  • Licensed Online States: AZ, CO, IA, NJ, VA
  • Payout Speed: Within 24 hours

10. Prime Sports: Best for Odds Shoppers (6.2/10)

Our Verdict: Prime Sports is slowly making the case to be the next up-and-coming sportsbook. Its reduced juice allows it to offer some of the best odds in the country, and its customer support team can provide one-to-one attention to new users. However, its navigation, design, and overall functionality need work before becoming a top contender.

Best for: Prime Sports will appeal to line shoppers and sharp bettors who are strictly trying to find the best price on a market. Prime Sports users won’t care about flashy features or mobile color schemes, just the odds.

Tom Ober
Tom Ober

Live chat was very fast when I tried it out. Representatives actually seem like real people, not just trainees reading from a set of stock responses. The most impressive thing, though, was that a support specialist gave me a phone call after I signed up, just to make sure I was finding everything I needed and able to use the app without any difficulty. I haven't had that experience with any other book!

Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane

The superior odds are definitely the biggest selling point of this sportsbook. Prime Sports probably has the best-priced odds in the industry. Because of the reduced vig, users usually get the most competitive prices here. But the mobile app is one of the areas where Prime Sports is lacking. Users report a lot of issues with logging in, geolocation verification, and overall functionality—it's not particularly modern-looking.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Superior odds thanks to reduced juice
  • Very helpful and responsive customer service
  • Offers loyalty program
  • Most major payment methods are supported & pay out quickly
Cons
  • Lack of promotions for ongoing users
  • Functionality & UX issues; difficult to navigate the website and app
  • Limited betting markets & live streaming

How We Rate Sportsbooks & Betting Sites

Over several months, we’ve reviewed dozens of online betting sites, focusing on user experience, betting options, payout speeds, odds, and customer service. We revisit these rankings as welcome offers and features change, adding new recommendations to our list.

Sports betting industry experts tested the most popular sportsbooks in the U.S. and graded them on 10 criteria. These reviewers signed up with each one, made deposits, claimed promotions, placed wagers, requested withdrawals, and contacted support. This thorough testing allowed us to gather extensive evidence about each site, enabling us to compare and contrast them.

For each sportsbook, you'll find our real user reviews grounded in first-hand experience and deep knowledge, as well as why it ranks in the spot it does. Each review is honest, unbiased, and regularly updated to reflect the latest changes. We’re committed to helping you find the best and safest options for your betting needs so you can confidently make informed decisions.

How to Compare Sportsbooks: Our Grading Criteria

First, we verify that a sportsbook is licensed in all jurisdictions where it operates. We will never recommend an unlicensed or offshore betting site.

Then, we rank our top sportsbooks from 1 to 10 and assign them an overall score out of 10.

Multiple reviewers give scores out of 10 for the following categories:

  1. Sports & Markets: A diverse range of sports and betting markets is crucial to cater to all types of bettors.
  2. Promotions: Promotions, including sign-up bonuses and regular customer rewards, should be fair, transparent, and accessible.
  3. Payments: Choices of payment methods and fast, reliable payouts ensure convenience and security. Trusted sites prioritize seamless transactions for deposits and withdrawals.
  4. Customer Support: Efficient and accessible customer service is vital for resolving issues quickly.
  5. Reputation & User Feedback: Our rating system relies on verified reviews from real iOS and Android app users as well as Reddit, TrustPilot, and TripAdvisor reviews.
  6. Site UX: We evaluate the user interface, ease of navigation, and overall quality of customer support at online sportsbooks to ensure a satisfying betting experience.
  7. Mobile Product: The app should be easy to navigate, quick to load, and available on both major app stores.
  8. Responsible Gambling: Sites should provide robust tools to support responsible play, including deposit limits, self-exclusion lists, and access to support networks.
  9. Live Betting Features: A strong live betting platform with real-time updates, cash-out options, and competitive odds can be valuable during live events.
  10. Odds Value: Sites offering consistently strong odds across various markets provide excellent value.

We average all 10 scores from every reviewer to account for all user experiences and preferences to deliver our users the most complete reviews possible.

New Sports Betting Sites Coming Soon

New betting sites are launching throughout the U.S. this year.

Since legalization in 2018, we have been covering and reviewing new online betting sites to offer players firsthand insight into these platforms' strengths and weaknesses.

Popular Sports to Bet on Online

Knowing which sports are most popular can make all the difference when choosing a betting site.

How to Sign Up for & Use Sports Betting Sites

Signing up for a new account with a betting site is just as easy as signing up for any other website. However, there are some unique specifics to be aware of when signing up for a sports betting site, including personal details and ID verification.

  1. Click on one of the links embedded in the banners on this page. This will navigate you to your state's betting site's welcome page.
  2. Click on the "start," "join," or "sign up" button.
  3. Enter your email address, phone number, and home address
  4. Enter our sports betting promo code to qualify for the new-user welcome offer.
  5. Create a secure password.
  6. Confirm your first & last name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. Depending on the betting site, you may need to wait for the operator to confirm your identity before you can start betting.
  7. Agree to the terms & conditions.
  8. Make your first deposit. Read the betting site's welcome bonus terms to ensure you make a qualifying deposit.

Payment Methods at Online Betting Sites

It's crucial to consider the available payment methods to ensure smooth and secure transactions. All the sites we recommend offer safe and secure transactions and banking methods.

In addition to PayPal, you can usually use other eWallets like Skrill or Venmo. Other common payment methods include credit and debit cards, bank transfers, prepaid cards, and mobile payments.

Types of Online Sportsbook Betting Markets

When exploring the best online sportsbooks in the USA, it’s essential to understand the variety of betting markets available.

Here are some common types:

Choosing the Right Online Sports Betting Site for You

No matter what, using only online sites licensed and regulated in your state is crucial.

We recommend signing up for multiple sites online. You can compare odds on the bets you want to place and claim all the corresponding bonuses. This process allows us to separate the best-priced sites from the rest.

When selecting the right online sports betting site, especially for beginners, consider these other key aspects:

Ongoing Promos, Loyalty Programs & Referrals

Bonuses can significantly enhance your betting experience. Look for ongoing sportsbook promos and no-deposit bonuses.

Loyalty rewards and referral bonuses are valuable as they provide extra funds and incentives for regular betting and inviting friends.

Easy User Experience

Usability ensures a smooth betting experience on both desktop and mobile platforms. Look for an intuitive interface, mobile compatibility, and easy account management.

Signing up for a betting site should be simple, secure, and not require too much effort.

User Reviews

Consider user reviews on forums and app stores to gauge the overall user satisfaction with a betting site. Reading through reviews from our users can help you understand how best to use the site.

Competitive Odds

Competitive odds are key to maximizing potential winnings. When trying out sites, we compare odds from dozens of websites. The margins are so slim due to the competition, but I always recommend comparing all new betting sites in your state to shop odds effectively.

Look for sites that offer better value through competitive odds, various formats (decimal, fractional, American), and real-time updates. Boosted odds and lower margins can also contribute to higher payouts.

That's why we recommend signing up for multiple sites online. You can compare odds on the bets you want to place and claim all the corresponding bonuses.

This process allows us to separate the best-priced sites from the rest.

Payout Speed & Convenience

Convenient banking options are crucial. Ensure the site supports various deposit methods, such as credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and bank transfers.

For withdrawals, seek fast and reliable options with low fees and reasonable limits. Quick processing times for deposits and withdrawals are essential.

Reliable Customer Service

The more available customer support channels, the better. Reliable customer service is crucial for support when needed.

Opt for sites with 24/7 support through live chat, email, and phone. Live chat is the easiest way to get a question answered; all sites should offer it. Email and a toll-free customer service phone number should also be available.

Knowledgeable and responsive staff, along with positive user reviews, indicate good service quality.

Avoid Offshore Betting Sites

As we mentioned earlier, the best way to guarantee the security of your personal information, money, and banking information is to only use licensed legal betting sites. Though they might look legit, blacklisted sites won't include any official U.S. licensing information in your state. As such, they're not beholden to the betting legislation that's in place in your state to keep you, your data, or your money safe.

The most common sites to avoid include: Bovada, BetOnline.ag, BetUS, Xbet, BetWhale, Everygame, and BetNow.

Responsible Gambling with the Best Online Sportsbooks

We can discuss the best sportsbooks and our evaluation process in detail, but responsible gambling is paramount. Sports betting should be fun, and we at Gambling.com never want to see anyone struggle.

This guide includes extensive tools to support responsible betting practices. Each recommendation offers resources to manage gambling safely and responsibly.

There are resources available, including:

Sportsbooks in your state will provide links and contact information to various resources nationally and in your state to help you if you’re struggling or someone you know is.

We look at sports betting as going to the movies. It’s purely for entertainment. Never chase losses or bet more than you can comfortably afford to lose.

Before each wager, ask yourself, “If I lose this, will I still be OK financially?”

If you or someone you know is struggling with problem gambling, you can call 1-800-GAMBLER, text the National Problem Gambling Helpline, or live chat on their website. State-specific gambling treatment resources are also available.
