Recent public polls indicate a Nov. 5 presidential election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump could go either way, but, according to many bookmakers outside the U.S., Trump is favored to win.

Earlier this month, Biden, a Democrat and the current president, and Trump, a former Republican president, clinched their party nominations in state-by-state votes for delegates at primaries and caucuses.

Barring an event that knocks either or both out of the race, the two are expected to be nominated formally at their party conventions this summer.

The Republican National Convention is set for July 15-18 in Milwaukee. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to run from Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.

Biden-Harris Ticket Set, Trump Eyes Running Mate Options

Biden is seeking re-election on a ticket that includes current Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump has not named a vice presidential running mate. Earlier in March, Gambling.com posted odds on a number of people Trump might pick as a running mate.

Since then, other names, including U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., have emerged as possibilities. The vice president who served during Trump’s presidency, Mike Pence, ran for the GOP presidential nomination earlier this election cycle but dropped out and has declined to endorse Trump.

Betting Odds On Biden-Trump Race

According to the political site fivethirtyeight.com, owned by ABC News, national polling in mid-March shows a range of results, from Biden up by three percentage points to Trump up by seven.

In addition to polling, legal betting sites also offer a snapshot of who is favored in the race at that moment.

In the U.S., regulated bookmakers are not allowed to accept bets on politics. However, bookmakers in other countries can post odds on races such as the U.S. presidential election.

DraftKings

FanDuel

In the United Kingdom, a survey of 26 bookmakers in March shows Trump as the favorite in each one. Here are examples:
