The Buffalo Bills’ high-octane offense, led by quarterback Josh Allen and sparked by wide receiver Stefon Diggs, has the team poised for a Super Bowl appearance this season.

But it’s Buffalo’s brick-wall defense that might position the Bills to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the title game’s final horn. This season’s Super Bowl is Feb. 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Von Miller Added To Defense

Last season, the Bills’ defense gave up ground in a 42-37 overtime playoff loss to the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs.

But that doesn’t erase a league-leading season that only promises to be better this year with the addition of Von Miller, one of the NFL’s top edge rushers and a likely future Hall of Famer.

Bettors looking for lower-scoring Over-Under opportunities this season, and fantasy players seeking an elite defense, might keep the Buffalo Bills in mind. The Bills’ defense ranked first in the NFL during the 2021 season in the following categories:

Total yards allowed (272.8)

Total passing yards allowed (163)

Points surrendered (17)

Added to this effort will be the 33-year-old Miller, still a dominant presence on the field. He is the NFL’s active leader in sacks at 115.5.

The Bills also beefed up an already strong secondary, using their first pick at this year’s NFL draft in Las Vegas to select the University of Florida’s Kaiir Elam. At 6-foot-1 and 191 pounds, this NFL-ready cornerback brings size and strength to the position.

Bills Picked To Win Title

With talent on both sides of the ball, the Bills have a good chance of bringing a Super Bowl trophy to upstate New York. (Technically, the Bills are the only team that can bring a Lombardi Trophy to the entire state. The Jets and Giants call MetLife Stadium in New Jersey home.)

At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bills (+650) are favored to win the Super Bowl.

The Bills open their regular season with a Sept. 8 Thursday road game against Miller’s former team, the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. The game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET. At Caesars Sportsbook, the Bills are favored by one point.
