Caesars Sportsbook Goes West, Expands into Washington

Caesars Sportsbook is expanding across Washington after it received a sports betting license from the Washington State Gambling Commission.

Caesars Partners With Muckleshoot Casino

Caesars Sportsbook has partnered with Muckleshoot Casino, Spokane Tribe Casino and its sister property, Chewelah Casino, to offer in-person sports betting at each property. The deals allow Caesars to reach both the western and eastern parts of the state. Each casino will feature a full Caesars Sportsbook location in addition to the self-service betting kiosks.

"Partnering with three tremendous casinos for our expansion into Washington state is a big moment for Caesars Sportsbook," said Eric Hession, Co-President of Caesars Digital. "We're thrilled to offer Washington sports bettors a chance to get into the action in time for Super Bowl LVI and we can't wait to see how fans from Seattle-Tacoma to Spokane enjoy the thrill of betting on their favorite teams and events."

Muckleshoot Casino is the largest gaming facility in the Pacific Northwest and includes four live betting windows and nine self-service betting kiosks. Caesars also plans to offer on-property mobile betting through the Caesars app, subject to Washington state regulations.

Spokane Tribe Casino will also debut a Caesars Sportsbook location inside the casino, and Chewelah Casino will offer their guests sports betting via self-service kiosk technology inside the property.

Washington Sports Betting

Washington’s sports betting market officially launched on Sept. 9 at 11 a.m., just in time for the 2021-22 NFL regular-season debut between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. The Snoqualmie Casino Sportsbook was the first tribal casino to start taking bets.

“As Seattle’s closest casino, Snoqualmie Casino is thrilled to offer our patrons new types of gaming experiences backed by IGT’s proven PlaySports solution,” Stanford Le, Snoqualmie Casino Chief Executive Officer, said in a media release.

Washington currently only permits retail sports betting on tribal lands. There is no online market available in the state. The state passed a sports betting law in 2020, allowing betting on professional, collegiate, international and Olympic sports. Bettors are restricted from wagering on in-state college teams, meaning residents in the state can’t bet on teams like Gonzaga, Washington or Washington State.
