Does the United States Qualify for the 2026 World Cup?
After making it to the round of 16 at Qatar 2022, the United States men's national team has now made it to 10 World Cups.
In 2026, the U.S. will once again host the World Cup just 32 years after hosting the 1994 edition.
As the U.S. is hosting once again, soccer fans will all wonder whether it qualifies for the competition in 2026.
Does the U.S. Qualify for the 2026 World Cup?
The USMNT will qualify for the 2026 World Cup, because it is one of three host nations in 2026.
In 1994, it qualified for the World Cup as the host nation, and the same applies here. Canada and Mexico will also be in the field because those nations are co-hosts.
The U.S. will also not have to play any qualification matches because of the free pass into the finals.
However, this means fans will have only a handful of competitive matches to look forward to until kick-off in 2026.
In total, the U.S. will play host to 60 matches in the World Cup, and all group games are expected to be played on U.S. soil.
Moreover, all the games after the quarterfinals will be hosted in the U.S., not Mexico or Canada.

Who Will the U.S. Play at the 2026 World Cup?
This is impossible to say right now. The qualification process for the 2026 World Cup will take three years to complete, and even when qualification is over, a draw must occur.
It’s simply guesswork until late 2025, when the draw gets made.
As well as this, the U.S. can draw against any qualified nation, including Mexico and Canada, as the draw is made based on the FIFA World Rankings, which will change drastically over the coming years.
