Michigan vs. Saint John's College Basketball Prediction & Odds

NCAA Best Bet Today #1: ⭐ Over 155.5 (-110) at FanDuel

Anticipation will be high for Rick Pitino's first major game at St. John's when the Red Storm host Michigan. St. John's is a small favorite at -2.5, but we're going to look to target the total in this matchup.

We like Michigan-St. John's Over 155.5 (-110) at FanDuel. St. John's is going through a rebuild but has established playmakers with experience. Daniss Jenkins followed Pitino from Iona to run the point, and he had a 28% assist rate to just a 14% turnover rate. Pitino also landed Jordan Dingle from Penn, who averaged 23.5 points per game last season. Joel Soriano returns to solidify the inside after averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds from a season ago.

It's difficult to know what to make of Michigan right now. The Wolverines easily handled UNC Asheville and Youngstown State, winning 99-74 and 92-62 in those matchups. Tennessee transfer Olivier Nkamhoua has looked solid thus far, scoring 25 and 17 points in the first two games of the season. Through the early parts of the season, KenPom ratings have Michigan at 27th in adjusted offensive efficiency.

With Pitino's past teams typically utilizing a pressing, uptempo system, we feel this game could have a faster pace. Considering the tempo and the offensive weapons each team has, we like the over between Michigan and St. John's.

Betting Pick: Over 155.5 (-110) at FanDuel

Michigan vs. Saint John's College Basketball Prediction & Odds

NCAA Best Bet Today #2: ⭐ Olivier Nkamhoua Over 20.5 Points at BetMGM

Olivie Nkamhoua was one of the top transfer portal targets this offseason. The four-year Tennessee forward decided to commit to Michigan, bolstering the Wolverines' frontcourt after Hunter Dickinson left for Kansas. Nkamhoua has performed well in two games with the Wolverines, and we're going to look to back his point total against St. John's.

We're going with Olivier Nkamhoua Over 20.5 Points at BetMGM In two games, Nkamhoua has scored a total of 42 points while missing just five shots during that span. He had 25 points 11 of 16 shooting against UNC Asheville, and then followed that with 17 points while making all seven of his attempts versus Youngstown State.

We don't expect that type of efficiency against a better St. John's team, but it's difficult to ignore the results Nkamhoua has had so far. He's been one of Michigan's primary offensive options, so we're going to back him in the point prop market in what we believe will be a high-scoring game.

Betting Pick: Olivier Nkamhoua Over 20.5 Points at BetMGM

NCAA Best Bet Today #3: ⭐ Terrance Williams Over 6.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM

For our second player prop, we're going to target the rebound total for Michigan senior forward Terrane Williams II. Out of the main rotation pieces for Michigan, Williams is one of the most experienced players having played in at least 20 games in each of the past three seasons.

We like Terrance Williams Over 6.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM. Williams has been one of the top rebounders for Michigan this season. In the opener against UNC Asheville, Williams had six rebounds in just 24 minutes. He added eight rebounds against Youngstown State in only 26 minutes of action.

Michigan won those games by 25 and 30 points. The blowout nature led to fewer minutes for Williams, but with a competitive matchup with St. John's, we expect Williams to play extended minutes which should only help his rebounding total. Considering he was right around this rebounding prop with limited minutes in blowouts, we are confident he can clear this prop.

Betting Pick: Terrance Williams Over 6.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM
