We continue our NBA picks for Friday night with the Western Conference battle at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The Grizzlies are without Ja Morant (suspension), Steven Adams (knee), and Brandon Clarke (Achilles), but they’ll eventually beat someone. The clash against the new-look Trail Blazers, who miss Anfernee Simmons (thumb), looks like a solid chance for Memphis to grab a win, so we are taking the Grizzlies -2.0 (-110) at Caesars for our second NBA pick today. Scoot Henderson (ankle) is questionable to play, and his eventual absence would be a big blow for the Trail Blazers. 

Portland has won two straight contests to wrap up a three-game road trip. The Blazers have beaten the Toronto Raptors 99-91 and the Detroit Pistons 110-101, and Henderson has dished out seven assists in each of those two games. On the other side, the Grizzlies are coming off an embarrassing 133-109 loss at the Utah Jazz in which they shot just 36.5% from the field (14-for-54 from deep). 

It feels like the Grizzlies can only play better, and they should show some pride after yielding a staggering 79 first-half points to the Jazz. Last season, Memphis went 2-1 SU and 0-3 ATS against Portland, so we’re adding the Grizzlies to out NBA predictions, hoping they’ll come out on top and cover a paltry spread.

We’ll finalize our NBA Friday night predictions with the Warriors vs. Thunder showdown at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Golden State has dominated OKC over the last few years, going 9-1 SU and 7-2-1 ATS in their previous nine head-to-head duels, and the Warriors open as 4.5-point road favorites for this game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. 

The Warriors (4-1; 3-2 ATS) have won all of their three road contests in 2023-24. Golden State is searching for its fifth straight victory after a narrow 102-101 home win to the Sacramento Kings this past Wednesday. On the other side, the Thunder (3-2; 3-2 ATS) have lost two of their previous three contests, sandwiching a 124-112 victory over the Detroit Pistons with a heavy 128-95 defeat to the Denver Nuggets and a 110-106 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. 

Golden State boasts the fifth-highest net rating in the league (plus-8.8) while yielding just 105.1 points per 100 possessions (tied-6^th). Stephen Curry has been unstoppable thus far, notching 31.0 points per game on 45.9^ shooting from beyond the arc, and the Thunder will struggle to slow him down. Oklahoma City ranks 15^th in the league in points allowed per 100 possessions (110.1) and 25^th in assists allowed per game (26.8), so we are taking the Warriors -4.5 (-110) at FanDuel for our final NBA pick on Friday’s card.
