For the first of our NBA Predictions Today, we’re rolling the dice a bit with Tyus Jones’ assists. Heading into the NBA Picks today, this line opened at 5.5 but has since dropped to 4.5, giving “+” money on the under, which we’re leaning toward. 

Jones averages 4.9 assists per game this season, which is 0.4 more than the line here. Over his last five games, Jones has had three games where he finished with four or fewer assists. The other two were back-to-back seven-assist performances against the Bucks and Hornets. 

Of the 17 games he’s played this season, eighth resulted in four or fewer assists. 

Teams opposing the Magic average the second-least assists per game with 22.7. The only team that will be less against them is the Houston Rockets, with 22. The Magic also allow just 107.4 points per game, the fifth-least in the NBA.

As for the Wizards, they average 116.1 points (ninth-most) and 27.9 assists (fifth-most). 

So, we have a battle here of a team who performs well, scoring and assisting against an opponent that doesn’t allow them as much as most other teams. 

The Magic are massive favorites in this game at 9.5 points, so we could see a situation where Jones plays at or less than his 27ish minutes per game.

NBA Best Bet Today #2: ⭐Desmond Bane Under 1.5 Steals/Blocks (-125) at FanDuel

Next up for our NBA Prediction, we’ll zero in on Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane. Here, we’re looking at some combo defensive stats, taking the under on his steals/blocks. Based on the line, we think he has one or less combined for our NBA Predictions Today. 

One thing to know about Bane is that despite his six-foot-five or so stature, his wingspan is just six-foot-four, which could make it difficult for him to snatch steals away from teams. Looking at his career, he has a lifetime average of one steal per game. This season, that’s up to 1.3. His blocks, however, are at 0.6. 

Over his past five games, he’s had zero blocks and one steal in four of five games. 

So, for the first of our NBA Picks today, we’re taking the under as Bane has seven games where he’s gone over this mark but has ten games without a block and 12 games with one steal or less.

NBA Best Bet Today #3: ⭐LeBron James Over 24.5 Points (-125) at BetMGM

Rounding out our NBA Picks Today, we have King James, and we think he goes over his point total of 24.5 here. Over his last two games, James has an 18 and 22-point performance. In his last outing, he broke the record for minutes played, but the Lakers lost 138-94 and had just 18 points. He has three games of 30 minutes or more, so a reduction could happen, especially as seven-point favorites. Still, he could see more time today to ensure a win on the road against the Pistons. He’s also only played three games in five days, so he’s had some decent rest. 

For the last of our Free NBA Picks, we’re banking on James getting back out on the court to beat up the Pistons, who allow 117.7 points per game, which is 22nd in the NBA.
