Sports Betting in Pennsylvania Numbers Go Down in February
Pennsylvania sports betting experienced the same decrease in February that other states have reported.
The state posted a sports betting handle of $597.1 million, down 24.8% from January’s $793.7 million but was 17.2% higher than February 2021’s $509.5 million.
Pennsylvania’s online sports betting handle was $558.1 million, a decrease of 24.3% from January’s $737.4 million and was an 18.8% increase from February 2021’s $469.7 million. Mobile betting made up 93.5% of the state’s overall sports betting market.
February’s gross sports betting revenue in Pennsylvania was -$442,847. In January it was $32.2 million and $16.4 million in February 2021.
It’s been common to see lower sports betting totals reported for February. The month is the shortest of the year and besides the Super Bowl, there are no regularly scheduled marquee football games for people to bet on. March typically sees sportsbooks bounce back thanks to March Madness betting.
Pennsylvania Gaming Figures
Pennsylvania’s February table games gross revenue was $74.4 million, down 4.9% from January’s $78.2 million.
The interactive slots handle for the month was $1.99 billion, a decrease of 2.1% from January’s $2 billion.
Pennsylvania’s interactive slots gross revenue $68.1 million, down 5.2% from January’s $71.8 million.
February’s retail slots handle was $2.49 billion, an increase of 10.5% from January’s $2.25 billion.
The state’s retail slots gross terminal revenue was $194.7 million, up 15.6% from January’s $168.4 million.
Interactive banking tables posted a handle of $2.05 billion in February, up 0.7% from January's $2.04 billion.
February’s interactive banking tables gross revenue came to $31.4 million, a decrease of 5% from January’s $33.1 million.
