Who Will Win 'America's Got Talent'? Chibi Unity Joint Favorites After Winning Final Golden Buzzer
After 10 episodes, the theatre door has slammed shut on "America's Got Talent" Season 18 auditions, but not before the Golden Buzzer was pressed for a final time this year.
Final Golden Buzzer Pressed
While six acts had already been worthy recipients of golden tickets into the live shows, the four "AGT" judges, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara, and host Terry Crews all came together to gift another pass in Episode 10.
With these hypothetical odds provided by industry sports betting experts, we've looked into which remaining "America's Got Talent" contestants could have what it takes to be the show's Season 18 winner and land the $1 million prize.
Chibi Unity In Contention
Dance act Chibi Unity were the lucky beneficiaries of the Group Golden Buzzer, and they are now +250 joint favorites to win Season 18 alongside Murmuration and Putri Ariani, who have topped the futures betting market since wowing in Episode 2.
Fellow Golden Buzzer recipients Gabriel Henrique, Lavender Darcangelo, and Chioma and The Atlanta Drum Academy, who are all +300, and Mzansi Youth Choir (+350) could also have strong claims on the "AGT" title.
But Episode 10 act Donovyn Diaz put himself into contention on Tuesday night with a dazzling dance display, which saw Cowell describe him as a "total star" after he "controlled the stage.”
He has joined the likes of Zion Clark and 82nd Airborne Chorus at +400, who are just ahead of a pair of +600 chances, Titos Tsai and Kevin Li, who both made their "AGT" debuts on Tuesday.
Sword dancer Tsai's audition, in which he danced while juggling three swords at the same time, was called "beautiful" and "dangerous" by Mandel.
Li's magic left the panelists shocked, particularly when he pulled a popcorn kernel out of his eye, and Cowell praised him for being "slick, Vegas and very us."
'Natural' Trevino Impresses
Mariachi soloist Eduardo Antonio Trevino is just +700 to triumph in Season 18 after being told by music mogul Cowell that he has "natural talent.”
Trevino is just ahead of comedic clown Papayaso (+800) and dog act Heather and Bogart (+800) in the futures betting.
Cowell said Papayaso might be the "only" funny clown he's ever met, but the dog lover was unsurprisingly a huge fan of three-legged canine Bogart.
Hair hang aerial duo Morgan and Roxi also advanced to the qualifiers with four yeses, despite Cowell insisting their audition "wasn't perfect,” and they are now +1000 for "AGT" victory.
Acrobat pair Duo Dadiva and comedian Ahmed Bharoocha progressed to the next round on Tuesday night, but just barely.
The two acts could only manage three yeses after both were buzzed by Cowell, who found Duo Dadiva "a bit boring.”
Next week, the "Road to Lives" episode will recap some of Season 18's best auditions, before the qualifiers begin the following week.
