Who Will Win Love Island 2023?
"Love Island USA" wasted no time in setting the standard for series 5, as one contestant was brutally dumped in the premiere episode.
The dating show, which is hosted by Sarah Hyland and narrated by "Love Island UK" announcer Iain Stirling, returned for a fifth installment on Tuesday night, as 10 singletons entered the Fijian villa looking for love.
To start with, the Islanders were greeted with a new game, Stick or Twist, which saw the male contestants come out one by one, and the ladies were tasked with stepping forward if one of the guys took their fancy.
If more than one woman stepped forward, then the guy was able to choose who to couple up with.
One surprise moment saw Marco admit he already knows fellow Islander Anna from the gym, but she didn't step forward for him.
The game led to this season's first couples of Kay Kay and Keenan, Anna and Bergie, Destiny and Marco, Jasmine and Victor, and Kassy and Leonardo.
After an eventful first day in the villa, host Hyland returned at the end of the episode to ask the Islanders to vote for the least compatible couple, which were decided as Anna and Bergie.
The pair were then told to choose between themselves for one of them to head home, and Bergie nominated himself, saying: "I just felt I wouldn't be able to fall asleep in an empty bed tonight without a guilty conscience."
However, there was a twist in store.
Once outside the villa, Bergie received a text that read: "Bergie, everyone deserves a second chance. #stillinthegame #throupleup"
It appears Bergie could well be returning to the villa with a new bombshell contestant on each arm, but that remains to be seen.
With these hypothetical odds provided by industry sports betting experts, we've looked into who has what it takes to team up and land the "Love Island USA" season 5's $100,000 prize.
Kay Kay And Keenan Lead Love Island Top Couple Market
Kay Kay and Keenan are the early favorites to win this season's "Love Island USA" after a strong premiere episode.
The pair, who are +300 to triumph on season 5, looked comfortable in each other's company and like they had known each other for months at times.
They head the Top Couple market for now, ahead of second favorites Destiny and Marco, who are +400.
While Destiny seemed a little shocked to discover Marco is five years younger than her, it didn't stop the pair from sharing a smooch on the beach in the season premiere episode.
Another age gap surprise, saw Kassy learn that Leonardo is a year younger than her, but she clearly wasn't put off.
The couple is +500 third favorites to win the season, just ahead of +600 chances Jasmine and Victor in the betting.
During the episode, Jasmine wasted no time in asking Victor if he was planning to have sex in the villa, and he replied with a diplomatic: "We'll see."
ICU nurse Jasmine admitted to Victor she is "trying to be different," so it could be worth expecting the unexpected with her throughout the season.
Elsewhere, Anna and Bergie were effectively split up when he nominated himself to go home, but after the text message twist, he could be heading back to the villa soon.
While they didn't exactly hit it off, the pair is still +1200 to win the show in case they recouple upon Bergie's return, and they did have some things in common.
He told her: "This sounds bad, but I don't want someone who wants to be a stay-at-home mom. I want someone who is career driven."
Anna replied: "That's totally me."
Bergie Still Has A Chance to Win Love Island Top Man
Despite being voted off, Bergie is still in with a chance of being this year's "Love Island USA" Top Man, following the end-of-episode twist.
Bergie is currently at the bottom of the market at +600, but he might spring a few surprises when he returns to the villa, and he knows what he wants.
Earlier in the episode, he told Anna: "I date for marriage. I'm not trying to sleep around."
At the other end of the Top Man odds, Keenan begins season 5 life as the +200 favorite, ahead of +300 shot Marco.
The pair is just ahead of +400 chance Leonardo, while Victor is +500.
Early signs have indicated that Victor and Jasmine might not be that well suited to one another after she asked him what his "ick" was and he admitted it is people who party a lot. Jasmine then admitted she likes to party a lot. Oh, dear.
Anna's Outside Chance of Winning Love Island Top Woman
Like Bergie, Anna also has an outside chance of winning "Love Island USA" as things stand, as she is the only single Islander for now.
She is +600 to triumph in the Top Woman category, but the contestant has already shown she is up for chatting with other guys.
Earlier in episode 1, Anna pulled Leonardo for a chat and admitted he was her "number one," despite being coupled up with Bergie at the time.
Anna was also open to Bergie, admitting she was already "struggling a little bit" with him because she is used to "outgoing" guys.
One woman who didn't appear to be struggling in the early stages of their romance was Kay Kay, who is the +200 favorite to be this season's Top Woman.
She already told Keenan: "He likes physical touch and that's my love language, so I know we're going to cuddle tonight."
Kay Kay faces strong early competition from Destiny (+300) and Kassy (+400), as well as Top Woman fourth favorite Jasmine, who is +500. But it's all to play for in the early stages of "Love Island USA."
