What is Golden Nugget Sportsbook?
Golden Nugget Sportsbook was the sports-betting arm of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, an online casino and betting operator now a subsidiary of DraftKings. It was initially founded in 2020 by Tilman Fertitta, who owned Landry's Restaurants and became the owner of the NBA's Houston Rockets in 2018.
Is Golden Nugget Still a Sportsbook?
Golden Nugget Sportsbook has been absorbed into DraftKings Sportsbook. It shut down online sports betting operations fully by early 2024, though its casino gaming still continues under the Golden Nugget brand.

- Nov. 2024: DraftKings announces it will shut down its Atlantic City live-dealer studio at the Golden Nugget on Jan. 31, 2025.
- Jan. 2024: The Golden Nugget Sportsbook app shuts down operations in Michigan and West Virginia: "Golden Nugget Online Sportsbook in West Virginia and Michigan will no longer be available post-update to the new Golden Nugget Online Gaming experience. You will need to create a DraftKings Sportsbook account to wager on the DraftKings Sportsbook in the states of West Virginia and Michigan."
- April 26, 2023: The Golden Nugget Sportsbooks stops accepting bets in Nevada.
- March 2023: Betr officially takes over Golden Nugget's betting license in Virginia.
- May 5, 2022: DraftKings announces the completion of its purchase of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, which includes sports betting and casino products. Golden Nugget would continue to operate as a separate brand under DraftKings' company for the next two years.
- Aug. 2021: DraftKings announces buying $1.56B for Golden Nugget Online Gaming in an all-stock deal.
- Feb. 24, 2021: Golden Nugget and Tioga Downs Race Track agree to partner for market access in New York.
