Liverpool have already added one new face to their squad for next season, but betting sites anticipate plenty more business in the weeks and months ahead.

Jurgen Klopp’s side completed the acquisition of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month.

The World Cup winner enjoyed an excellent campaign for club and country in 2022/23, and Liverpool won the race for Mac Allister signature amid stiff competition.

After finishing outside the top four last term, there is plenty of work still to be done for the Reds this summer.

More midfield additions are surely on the way, while another centre-back could also be on Klopp’s wish list.

Which other players will end up following Mac Allister through the entrance door at Anfield?

Let’s take a look at some of the names being linked with the 20-time English champions.

Liverpool At Front Of Queue For Veiga

Liverpool are said to be in pole position to land Gabri Veiga, who looks set to depart Celta Vigo in the current window.

The Spanish side, for whom Veiga has made 55 appearances in all competitions, will be forced to sell their academy product if a club meets his £34m release clause.

The size of that buyout clause has alerted the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Napoli, according to reports, but Liverpool are the favourites at a price of 11/8 with football betting sites

They are considering making an offer soon and being the first to do so would boost their chances of signing the 21-year-old.

Veiga is a talented midfielder who usually plays in the No.8 role, from where he scored 11 goals for Celta last season.

Chelsea Duo Have Been On Liverpool’s Radar

After splurging close to £600m on new players last season, Chelsea need to sell in order to balance their books ahead of next term.

Saudi Arabia looks to be coming to their aid, but a move to the Pro League is not in the offing for either Conor Gallagher or Mason Mount.

Gallagher is priced at 9/2 with BetVictor to end up at Anfield. The former Crystal Palace loanee is in many ways the archetypal Klopp midfielder, particularly out of possession.

However, Chelsea have not yet decided whether they want to retain the England international or let him go.

Mount is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2024 and Manchester United are aiming to buy him.

Liverpool are available at 9/1 with the UK bookmakers, but those odds would no doubt shorten were United to withdraw their interest.

Southampton Duo Likely To Be Available After Relegation

Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League means they must brace themselves for offers this summer.

James Ward-Prowse, their club captain and long-time talisman, will almost certainly depart, and Liverpool are one of several clubs thought to be sniffing around.

James Ward-Prowse

Odds of 16/1 might appear to contradict that statement, but several other bookies are offering much shorter odds - the above bet might prove to be excellent value then.

Romeo Lavia was a rare bright spot for the Saints last time out and they may struggle to keep hold of him into next season. The youngster is priced at 10/1 with Bet365 to become a Liverpool player.

Return For Mane And Maddison Move Both Unlikely

Sadio Mane’s switch to Bayern Munich has not gone to plan, as the German giants consider cutting their losses this summer.

The Senegal international is a Liverpool legend, but it is hard to see him ending up back there.

The principal reason for that is Liverpool’s abundance of attacking options, even without the departed Roberto Firmino, so odds of 20/1 are not worth taking up.

James Maddison is available at the same price, with Liverpool seemingly looking elsewhere.

Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur are more probably destinations for the Leicester City attacking midfielder.

Could Caicedo Follow Mac Allister To Merseyside?

Mac Allister is unlikely to be the only Brighton player who seeks pastures new this summer.

The Seagulls will not want an exodus as they prepare for a season in the Europa League, but Moises Caicedo is another of their stars who has been linked with rival clubs.

The Ecuador international pushed hard to join title challengers Arsenal in the winter window, but he ended up signing a new deal with Brighton.

Rumours suggest that contract contains a release clause, but it does not look like Liverpool will be triggering it.

Indeed, Klopp’s team are given a 25/1 shot by betting apps of landing Caicedo, with Man Utd target Rasmus Hojland available at the same odds to move to Merseyside.
