Man Utd Transfer Odds: Who Will The Red Devils Sign This Summer?
Man Utd are working hard to bolster their squad this summer as they bid to close the gap on Premier League champions Man City.
Betting sites make the Red Devils 14/1 underdogs to win the title next season, so there is a lot of work to do in the weeks ahead.
They made their first foray into the summer transfer market when they signed playmaker Mason Mount from Chelsea for an initial £55m.
They are also closing in on the signing of Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana, who is poised to replace the outgoing David De Gea between the sticks.
However, United are still pursuing a range of additional targets ahead of the new campaign, as manager Erik ten Hag seeks to lead the club back to their former glories.
We have rounded up the leading candidates to move to Old Trafford below.
Rasmus Hojlund
Man Utd’s key priority this summer will be to sign a traditional striker who can lead the line in big games.
They have already addressed a lack of creativity in midfield by signing Mount, while ten Hag will hope that Onana proves a little more reliable than David De Gea in goal.
He will now shift his focus to bringing in a prolific, reliable centre-forward that can spearhead the Man Utd attack.
Anthony Martial missed large chunks of the 2022/23 campaign after sustaining a series of injuries, leaving them reliant on loanee Wout Weghorst.
Neither man looked entirely convincing up front for the Red Devils, so they really need to bring in an elite striker to play in between Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Rasmus Hojlund, a 20-year-old Denmark international who has been dubbed Erling Haaland 2.0, could potentially fit the bill.
He scored 12 goals in 21 games for Sturm Graz in 2022, which earned him a €17m move to Atalanta in August.
Hojlund only found the back of the net nine times in 32 Serie A appearances, so comparisons to Haaland may be a little ambitious, but a haul of five goals in four matches for the national team underscored his potential.
Ten Hag has reportedly spoken to Hojlund on a video call, leaving him enthused about the project, and Atalanta are open to selling him if United lodge a bid worth around £40m.
It remains to be seen if they can thrash out a deal that suits both clubs, but United have now shortened to just 1/3 to sign him.
Neymar
BetVictor are now offering just 11/4 on the 31-year-old Brazilian superstar moving to Man Utd this summer.
He became the most expensive player in history when he joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017, and he has helped them win five Ligue 1 titles.
However, his time in the French capital has been blighted by injuries and feuds with teammates, while he has not been able to lead the club to Champions League glory.
PSG are in rebuilding mode this summer, targeting younger and hungrier players, and Neymar could join Lionel Messi in leaving the club.
He has been linked with a return to Barcelona or a move to Saudi Arabia, but Man Utd could offer him a compelling alternative.
Goncalo Ramos
Ten Hag is also tipped to target a second striker this summer, as Hojlund is seen as more of a long-term signing who would be given time to develop.
Ramos is not quite the finished article, but he is a lot more experienced than Hojlund, and he could go straight into the starting XI.
The 22-year-old Portugal international has already made 64 league appearances for Benfica, and he fired them to the title last season.
He has already made seven appearances for the national team, scoring four goals, and he famously dislodged Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup.
The Red Devils are now 15/4 with football betting sites to sign Ramos, who could transform their attack next season.
Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen is a world-class striker that could walk straight into the Man Utd starting XI.
The Nigerian international has just fired Napoli to the Serie A title, banging in 26 goals in 32 appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s men.
Europe’s elite clubs are now lining up nine-figure bids for the prolific forward, and Man Utd are the 5/1 second favourites, level with Chelsea in the betting.
Osimhen would represent a far more exciting signing than Hojlund or Ramos, as he is one of the hottest properties in world football.
The Nigerian international could help them close the gap on Man City, so odds of 5/1 look attractive.
The Rest
The Red Devils were among the favourites to capture the signature of Harry Kane earlier this summer, but they are now 16/1 underdogs to buy him.
Man Utd have also been linked with a range of alternative strikers: Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (5/1), Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani (8/1), Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus (11/1), Atlético Madrid’s Joao Felix (14/1) and Inter’s Lautaro Martínez (18/1).
Hojlund, Ramos and Osimhen are the leading candidates right now, but a punt on Muani may appeal to some fans at 8/1.
They were heavily linked with Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo at one point, but Chelsea are now the odds-on favourites to snap him up.
Some bookmakers are offering just 7/2 on United signing him, but they have drifted out to 20/1 with Bet365.
