Man Utd Transfer Odds: Who Will The Red Devils Sign This Summer?
Man Utd are working hard to bolster their squad this summer as they bid to close the gap on Premier League champions Man City.
Betting sites make the Red Devils 16/1 underdogs to win the title this season, so there is a lot of work to do in the days ahead.
They have already snapped up Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, while veteran defender Jonny Evans signed a short-term deal with the club.
However, United are expected to complete more signings before the transfer window slams shut on Friday, September 1, as there are still a few gaps in their squad.
Fred, Anthony Elanga, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst - who combined for 131 appearances in all competitions last season - have all left the club this summer.
The likes of Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek have been heavily linked with transfers too.
That could leave Man Utd a little shorthanded, so they will continue to pursue new signings until the transfer deadline passes.
We have rounded up the leading candidates to move to Old Trafford below.
Benjamin Pavard
The Bayern Munich defender has emerged as United’s top transfer target as they seek to bolster their options at the back.
The French World-Cup winner is primarily a right-back, but he can also play as a centre-back, and that versatility may appeal to manager Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils have two decent right-backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Pavard would represent an upgrade on them both.
He is defensively solid, but he is also dangerous going forward, as he proved when scoring a wondergoal at the 2018 World Cup.
United may need to lodge a substantial bid to secure his services this summer, but they are the 2/1 favourites to sign him.
Ollie Watkins
Ten Hag is tipped to target another striker this summer, as Hojlund is seen as more of a long-term signing who will be given time to develop.
Martial is injury-prone, and he may leave the club if a suitable bid materialises in the days ahead, so attacking reinforcements could be required.
Ollie Watkins looks like an ideal candidate, as the 27-year-old Aston Villa forward is currently at the peak of his powers.
He fired in 15 goals for the Midlands club last term, and he impressed with his pace, movement and work rate off the ball.
Unai Emery will be loath to lose him, but Aston Villa may be persuaded to do business if a significant bid arrives.
Spurs are the narrow favourites to sign him at 5/1, as they seek a replacement for Harry Kane, who recently moved to Bayern Munich.
However, Man Utd are next in the betting at 6/1, which looks like an interesting price.
Emiliano Martinez
A new era is underway at Man Utd this season after long-serving goalkeeper David De Gea left the club.
The Red Devils signed Onana from Inter Milan for an initial fee of £43.8m, and he is expected to be their first choice keeper.
However, some clubs like to have two high-quality goalkeepers vying for a starting berth, as Arsenal showed by signing David Raya to compete with Aaron Ramsdale.
In a similar vein, Man Utd have been linked with a move for Aston Villa stopper Martinez, who played a starring role in Argentina’s World Cup triumph last year.
He is reportedly keen to move to a bigger club, and he may be tempted by the chance to compete with Onana, who did not look entirely convincing on his debut.
He is 6/1 with BetVictor to sign with Man Utd before the window closes, although “any Italian club” is priced at Evens and Chelsea are the 3/1 second favourites.
Jordan Pickford
The England No. 1 could be another option for United if they decide to boost their options in this important department.
Everton tied Pickford down to a new four-and-a-half year contract in February, a move designed to fend off interest from various suitors.
However, Pickford has been at the club for six years now, and he may fancy a new challenge, especially if Man Utd come calling.
Spurs are the 3/1 favourites to sign him, followed by Chelsea at 10/1, but United are next on football betting sites at 12/1, along with West Ham.
Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen is a world-class striker, and he has the pace, power and finishing ability to flourish in the Premier League.
The Nigerian international fired Napoli to the Serie A title last season, banging in 26 goals in 32 appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s men.
Europe’s elite clubs are now lining up nine-figure bids for the prolific forward, and Man Utd were the 5/1 second favourites to sign him earlier this summer.
However, they have now drifted out to 14/1 with William Hill in this market after their interest cooled somewhat.
Osimhen is priced at 7/4 to move to Saudi Arabia, 5/1 to join PSG and 10/1 to sign with Chelsea, leaving the Red Devils fourth in the betting.
However, Man Utd may renew interest in the Nigerian international, who is far more experienced than Hojlund.
Best Of The Rest
Man Utd have also been linked with a move for teenage sensation Evan Ferguson, who has delivered a string of eye-catching performances for Brighton over the past year.
He is priced at 16/1 to join the Red Devils, although they are behind Spurs and Chelsea in the betting.
You can also find 9/1 on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and on Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia moving to Old Trafford, although the midfield does not appear to be a major priority for ten Hag right now.
Another long-shot is Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, who is 20/1 to head to Manchester this summer.
