Scientific Games to Help Drive Future Lotto New Zealand Growth
American iGaming, lottery and gaming machines behemoth Scientific Games has inked a seven-year deal to serve as the primary systems technology provider for Lotto New Zealand.
The arrangement will see the New Zealand national lottery utilize the Symphony modular gaming system from Scientific Games to support its draw-based games engine as well as more than 1,200 Contour V retailer point-of-sale terminals and wireless ticket checkers.
Future Focus
As part of its plans for future growth and digital innovation, Lotto New Zealand announced 18 months ago that it would be replacing its existing core gaming systems with new and fully integrated next-generation technologies featuring a retail element and advanced point-of-sale solutions alongside an online platform and a content aggregation hub.
In keeping with this plan and the lottery is to now additionally utilize the SG Content Hub advance from Scientific Games to deliver its games remotely.
Online Opportunities
Michael Conforti serves as the International President for Scientific Games and he explained that the new Lotto New Zealand arrangement is only scheduled to begin following the official go-live date and may be renewed by as much as twelve more years.
He also described the SG Content Hub platform as capable of delivering a range of online casino games including draw-based and instant titles from some of the world’s ‘leading lottery-focused digital game studios’.

For his part and the Chief Executive Officer for Lotto New Zealand, Chris Lyman, detailed that his enterprise offers a wide range of retail and online lottery games while transferring all of its profits to the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board for the benefit of thousands of community groups and organizations around the country.
