300 Industry Leaders To Speak At Betting On Sports 2019
Two Sports Betting Hall of Famers are among the key speakers lined up for SBC Event's mammoth Betting On Sports 2019 summit in London next month.
More than 200 sportsbook and online casino operators will descend on the Olympia from September 17-20, to meet with 3,500 industry delegates and hear from 300 industry experts on all the big issues in betting and gaming.
Bwin's co-founder Norbert Teufelberger, inducted into the Sports Betting Hall of Fame last year, and Wsn partner Mark Blandford, added in 2016, are on the list of 18 key speakers across Betting On Sports, and the CasinoBeats Summit.
They will speak on Thursday during the 2020 Vision - The Future In Focus track, Blandford and Teufelberger closing the day in that room on the Hall of Fame Panel.
That evening another set of industry leaders will enter the Sports Betting Hall of Fame at a glittering ceremony in London's Natural History Museum. Dennis Algreen, marketing director at SBC, could not reveal their identities, but did give a small clue.
"Thursday night we will once again host a spectacular closing party and Sports Betting Hall of Fame ceremony at the fantastic Natural History Museum," he said. "We will have new Hall of Fame inductees, however, I cannot quite reveal who they are yet, but I can say that they are very high profile this year."
The inductees may well come from the key speaker panel, with the likes of Draft Kings CEO and founder Jason Robbins and Green Jade Games chair Jesper Karrbrink scheduled.
New Safer Gambling Forum At BOS2019
A significant addition to the Betting On Sports 2019 agenda is the SBC Safer Gambling Forum, taking place on Thursday.
The panel brings together well-known organisations like GamStop, GamCare, GambleAware, Safer Gambling Solutions, and Epic Risk Management to address industry problems and how delegates can respond.
It comes at a time of heightened awareness, following the UK's move to dramatically decrease maximum stakes on Fixed-Odds Betting Terminals. That measure was taken to help protect gamers, and was voluntarily followed by operators in Northern Ireland.
On a packed schedule, the Safer Gambling Forum will discuss whether online gambling should follow the FOBT lead, how to identify problem gambling behaviour, and marketing's role in prevention and education.
Talking about how the Safer Gambling Forum joined the agenda, Stewart Darkin, managing director of CasinoBeats, said: "The launch of the Safer Gambling Forum is a very important step for SBC and CasinoBeats, and reflects a clear shift in the industry agenda.
"Safer gambling practice has evolved from a topic of conversation to a critical business activity for leading operators, suppliers and affiliates.
"Through the Forum, we hope to deliver a valuable opportunity for the sector to discuss and develop the safer gambling agenda and, in doing so, help move the industry forward."
The forum is one of 60+ conference sessions throughout Betting On Sports and the CasinoBeats Summit, covering everything from sports analytics to regulation measures, blockchain, eSports and sports betting's expansion into the US.
SBC App Links Delegates to 3,500 Senior Executives
Betting On Sports and the CasinoBeats Summit is designed for industry personnel to come together to learn from each other, so alongside the presentations and discussion panels is the SBC Connect app.
There will be 3,500 senior executives present from betting and gaming operators, suppliers, affiliates, service providers and media, and the SBC Connect app links them together.
It allows any registered delegate access to the full delegate list, and provides a space to schedule meetings, even before the event starts.
