Bournemouth Vs Newcastle Prediction: 3 Panel Picks For Sunday's Game

The Panel have three tips for Sunday's clash at the Vitality Stadium between Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Both sides got off to unbeaten starts last weekend with the Cherries drawing 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, while 10-man Newcastle beat Southampton 1-0 at St James' Park.

Football betting sites make the Magpies 6/5 favourites against the hosts, who are 2/1 to win.

Bournemouth Vs Newcastle Odds: Alexander The Great Marksman

The good news for Newcastle is that Alexander Isak is still a Newcastle player, amid speculation surrounding a move to Arsenal earlier in the summer.

Isak scored 21 goals last term and is capable of being even more productive this season, while he brings far more to the table than just goals. You can get decent odds on him scoring this weekend.

Bournemouth Vs Newcastle United: Magpies To Maintain Perfect Start

A home game against newly-promoted Southampton looked a kind start to the season for Newcastle, but Fabian Schar’s early red card complicated their task

In a way, though, that triumph over adversity was perhaps more pleasing than a routine 3-0 win in an 11-versus-11 encounter would have been. It showed that Newcastle can dig in when they need to.

That is a quality Howe’s team must now start to demonstrate at grounds other than St James’ Park.

The Magpies ranked 11th in the away table compared to fourth in the home rankings. Between the end of September and the end of January, they did not win a single league match on enemy turf.

In fairness to Newcastle, an injury crisis (the worst in terms of games missed) did not help. With most of their squad either available now or soon to return, Howe will be confident about what his side can achieve this season.

Bournemouth had a good season last time out, but they have lost talisman Dominic Solanke and his replacement, Evanilson, only arrived at the club a few days ago.

The odds on the best betting sites suggests this is a good time to face the Cherries, so we like Newcastle’s chances of leaving the south coast with all three points.

Bournemouth vs Newcastle United: Goals Galore On The South Coast

The main concern for Newcastle heading into this game is a host of defensive absentees.

Schar is suspended after his dismissal last weekend, while Sven Botman and Jamaal Lasceles remain injured and Marc Guehi, their first-choice transfer target, looks set to stay at Crystal Palace.

Howe may reason that attack is the best form of defence. Barring back-up striker Callum Wilson, who is a doubt for Sunday’s clash, Newcastle have a full compliment of attacking players to choose from.

They should pose Bournemouth plenty of questions in forward areas.

Even without Solanke, Andoni Iraola’s side will fancy their chances of exploiting a weakened Newcastle backline. Evanilson is likely to begin this game on the bench, with Antoine Semenyo the favourite to lead the line as he did against Nottingham Forest.

He will be supported by the likes of Marcus Tavernier, Dango Outtara and Luis Sinisterra, while Bournemouth’s high-pressing game usually generates chances of its own.

This should be an entertaining encounter between two teams who look to play on the front foot whenever possible and odds of 4/7 on betting apps should be considered.
