Coronation Street Odds: Lucy Fallon And Michael Le Vell Next Stars To Depart?
We're not long into 2025 and there seems to be a cull happening on the Coronation Street cobbles.
Charlotte Jordan has become the latest star to confirm she is leaving the show as barmaid Daisy Midgeley.
This follows shock announcements from Sue Cleaver - who has been part of the cobbles furniture since 2000 as Eileen Grimshaw - and Colson Smith, who has done 14 years hard graft in Weatherfield as police officer Craig Tinker.
Last month, Kate Brooks, the soap's new producer, warned fans to expect some character exits - and admitted some will "send shockwaves".

That's certainly been the case with Sue and Colson confirming their departures.
If that wasn't enough, Corrie bosses waited just a few days to kill off a character, as Luca Toolan's alter-ego Mason Radcliffe met his maker.
And it's also been reported that TV legend Sue Devaney’s Corrie character Debbie Webster will be written out of the soap.
This has led to betting sites speculating about who might be next and which characters might return to the cobbles.
Bethany's Permanent Exit?
It's already known that Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, is going on maternity leave later this year to have her second child - but could this result in a permanent end for Bethany?
The character's grandmother, iconic character Gail Platt, fled the cobbles on Christmas Day after Helen Worth's 50-year service.
It's just 4/5 on UK betting sites that Bethany is the next character to announce a permanent exit from the cobbles.
Another huge character who could depart the street is Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
It looks set to be a tough start to 2025 for Kevin, who will diagnosed with testicular cancer, and it's just 11/10 that Michael leaves Weatherfield this year.
Jenny Connor is also in contention at 6/4, after Sally Ann Matthews, who plays the character, recently stunned fans by making several shock claims about the show - and even telling fans: "ITV have got no money".
In a social media video, she said to fans about filming on location: "We don't do on location … right … ok so the whole 'Corrie doesn't do location anymore.'
Coronation Street Odds: Next Character To Leave Permanently
Character | Odds | Probability |
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) | 4/5 | 55.6% |
Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) | 11/10 | 47.6% |
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) | 6/4 | 40% |
Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) | 2/1 | 33.3% |
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) | 3/1 | 25% |
Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) | 4/1 | 20% |
Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Ken Barlow (William Roache) | 11/2 | 15.4% |
Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) | 10/1 | 9.1% |
"Thankfully because I fricking hate being on location - location is s*** - I hate it.
"So I'm glad ITV have got no money - am I allowed to say that? Well I have said it."
According to The Sun newspaper, Sally was due to have a meeting with soap bosses following her outburst.
One exit that would send shockwaves through the cobbles would be David Platt's (Jack P Shepherd) departure.
Show boss Kate has already said David is set for a "downfall" in 2025, but admitted another character will become embroiled in his situation, "which is quite unexpected".
It sounds like this scenario could play out a lot worse for the mystery character than it does for David, but it's only 5/2 that Jack announces his departure, following in the recent footsteps of his on-screen mum Helen and best pal Colson.
Ken's Shock Departure?
Legendary character David leaving the cobbles would be a huge shock, but an even bigger one would be icon Ken Barlow departing Coronation Street.
Ken and Corrie are like fish and chips - they simply belong together and shouldn't ever be separated.
Bill Roach is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest-serving television star in a continuous role after he first played Ken in the show's debut episode on December 9, 1960.
He is 11/2 on betting apps to be the next to announce his departure, but it's surely more likely that 3/1 chance Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) or 7/2 shot Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who is facing a potential life sentence in prison, go next instead.
Like Ken, another soap icon who would leave a huge hole in the Corrie furniture if she were to leave is Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
Following her on-screen daughter Helen's departure, it was thought Sue might follow her out of the Weatherfield exit door - but such fan concerns were recently played down.
She is 8/1 to go next, while Tyrone Dobbs actor Alan Halsall (6/1), who had a taste of other projects after his I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! stint last year, insisted in December: "I am definitely not leaving the soap."
Tyrone's grandmother Evelyn Plummer, who is played by Maureen Lipman, is set for a temporary stay away from the cobbles, and it's 4/1 that it turns permanent.
But it also wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Ty's pal Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) go.
Apart from his sister Maria Connor, Kirk doesn't have many big ties to the street following the departure of Beth Tinker, and it's 9/2 he is the next big star to confirm an exit.
Helen Odds-On For Corrie Comeback
With plenty of characters potentially leaving Weatherfield, there might be a few Coronation Street vacancies that need to be filled soon.
Villain Rob Donovan is one character who is back on the show, and Sally Carman has confirmed her son Seb Franklin is to briefly return from beyond the grave when her character Abi Franklin experiences visions of her late lad.
She told Inside Soap magazine: "Harry [Visinoni] returned to film it, and basically, Abi sees Seb as if he's just been attacked."
Coronation Street Odds: Character To Return In 2025
Character | Odds | Probability |
Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) | 4/7 | 63.6% |
Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) | 5/6 | 54.5% |
Beth Tinker (Lisa George) | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) | 3/1 | 25% |
Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Gail Platt (Helen Worth) | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) | 10/1 | 9.1% |
It's just 4/7 that Helen Flanagan makes a long-awaited return as Rosie Webster in 2025, and it's 5/6 that her on-screen sister Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) follows her.
One character who has only just left is Gail - but it's not impossible that she could make the odd return, despite her being an 8/1 outsider to do so.
In an interview with the Daily Star newspaper, Corrie executive producer Iain MacLeod said: "It will be a real treat for viewers if the opportunity arises for Helen to pop in here and there. She could play a role in some big moments."
This could tie in well if the likes of Gail's mother Audrey, granddaughter Bethany or son David depart Weatherfield this year.
If Audrey does leave then it wouldn't be a huge surprise if another Corrie character returned from the dead in the shape of her son Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), who is 5/1 for a comeback from beyond the grave.
Following the news of Seb's comeback, just days after Brian Capron reprised his role as late character Richard Hillman over the festive period, they could also do the same with Michelle Keegan's late alter-ego Tina McIntyre.
With Rob now back, there could be a chance we see Michelle return as a figment of Rob's imagination to haunt him, after he pushed her off a roof to her death in 2014.
Michelle is 10/1 for a shock comeback, but it's just 11/8 that Beth briefly returns to see her son Craig off later this year.
