We’re back after the international break, with Game Week 29 boasting a massive 16 fixtures and betting sites have their odds at the ready!

That means a Double Game Week for several teams, with managers needing to plan carefully for what is likely to be a high-scoring GW which could have a significant bearing on where you finish in your mini-league.

We recommend keeping abreast of all team news considering that players are returning from international duty, and could potentially be carrying a knock or two.

There were also several players that didn’t play for their country in the Euro 2024 qualifiers including a certain Norwegian striker for Manchester City. Will he be available for Liverpool at home?

When Is The Game Week 29 Transfer Deadline?

The transfer deadline for Game Week 29 is 11am on Saturday, April 1, shortly before Manchester City’s clash with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

Which Teams Have The Best FPL Fixtures For GW29 And Beyond?

The following teams have a Double Game Week: Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

BRIGHTON’s games against Brentford (h) and Bournemouth (a) stand out as they chase a Premier League top four spot, although those fixtures are followed by trips to Tottenham and Chelsea before a blank.

Speaking of CHELSEA, they have two matches at Stamford Bridge this Game Week, hosting Aston Villa and Liverpool.

LEICESTER travel to Crystal Palace before hosting Aston Villa, with MANCHESTER UNITED having Newcastle (a) and Brentford (h) before a GW30 match at home to Everton and a GW31 game at Nottingham Forest.

Should I Bench Boost This Week?

If you still have your Bench Boost chip available, then this could be the ideal Game Week to use it.

Much depends on how many “doublers” you have in your squad, although the recent move towards getting Brighton and Brentford personnel means you’ll hopefully have lots of players who have two fixtures.

The toss-up is whether you use the Bench Boost in GW29 or alternatively save it for GW34 where teams such as Brighton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have a Double Game Week and the fixtures look pretty favourable.

Who Are The Best GW29 Players To Buy?

Defenders

It’s easy to see why FPL managers have moved for LUKE SHAW (£5.2m) this week, with the Manchester United defender having been a reliable source of points this season.

With the Red Devils having an attractive double, over 100,000 people have already drafted in the England full-back.

PERVIS ESTUPINAN (£4.8m) is also proving a popular buy and Brighton do have a favourable DGW, but away games at Tottenham and Chelsea before a blank means managers should tread with caution.

For those that still have space for an additional Arsenal player, it’s GABRIEL (£5.2m) who makes the most appeal although BEN CHILWELL (£6.0m) also looks an attractive option for Chelsea.

Midfielders

The Brighton trio of KAURO MITOMA (£5.5m), ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER (£5.5m) and SOLLY MARCH (£5.1m) continue to be popular but please see the above words of caution when it comes to going in too heavily on Seagulls assets.

BRUNO FERNANDES (£9.6m) could be a more profitable option and the Manchester United penalty taker has a DGW followed by back-to-back favourable fixtures, with MARCUS RASHFORD (£7.3m) also returning to squads although he missed England duty with a knock.

MOHAMED SALAH (£12.8m) is only owned by around 25% of FPL managers right now, and it comes down to whether you think the Liverpool man can still score well at the Etihad Stadium and Stamford Bridge for this Game Week.

Finally, don’t sleep on JAMES MADDISON (£8.2m), as he is obviously capable of some big hauls.

Forwards

ALEXANDER ISAK (£6.7m) has only scored 52 FPL points this season, but 20 of them have been scored in the past two Game Weeks.

The Swede has been a popular option this week, however we can’t help but feel this is a kneejerk move considering that Newcastle host Manchester United before a trip to West Ham.

Crazily, there has been a move for ERLING HAALAND (£12.0m) as managers look to bring the Manchester City forward back into the fold, although the fact that he missed Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifying games is a red flag, with his father claiming that the player was “touch and go” for the Liverpool clash this weekend.

IVAN TONEY (£7.9m), OLLIE WATKINS (£7.5m) and KAI HAVERTZ (£7.6m) are all similarly priced forward options who have a Double Game Week, with the latter possibly having the best fixtures.

Who Are The Best GW29 Players To Sell?

Defenders

Arsenal defenders are starting to make their way out of FPL teams, with WILLIAM SALIBA the player making a mass exodus ahead of Game Week 29.

Perhaps it might be worth holding tight for one more week as the Gunners do follow that favourable Leeds home fixture with trips to Anfield and the London Stadium.

Midfielders

MIGUEL ALMIRON is now a long-term absentee with a thigh injury and it’s easy to now sell the Newcastle player who left many squads some time ago.

FPL managers have also lost patience with MARTIN ODEGAARD who has only been achieving modest totals over the past few Game Weeks and it comes back to Arsenal’s lack of a double this coming week.

Forwards

Despite HARRY KANE breaking records for club and country, over 100,000 FPL managers have waved goodbye to the Tottenham forward who only has a single Game Week.

Everton away is not necessarily the best fixture, but Spurs do then have consecutive home matches against Brighton and Bournemouth.

ALEKSANDR MITROVIC is an obvious sell considering his red card at Old Trafford in the FA Cup and the prospect of an extended ban for the Fulham striker, while ERLING HAALAND is one to keep on the watch list if news emerges that the forward could be missing in action for a few weeks.

Who Should Be Captain For Game Week 29?

This is the million dollar question! Chelsea have two home matches against Aston Villa and Liverpool, bringing the likes of Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Joao Felix into sharp focus.

However, some managers might be reluctant to trust any Blues players considering they have been inconsistent under Graham Potter.

Bukayo Saka knocked it out of the park when amassing 18 points for Arsenal against Crystal Palace before the international break, with the Gunners looking to shock betting apps by securing an unlikely Premier League title this term.

Despite only having one match this GW, a home clash against Leeds could yield enough points to merit giving him the armband.

Alternatively, those with Brighton assets could strongly consider Kaoru Mitoma, Alexis Mac Allister and Solly March, with the Seagulls capable of scoring in volume and they could make hay against Brentford and Bournemouth.

Naturally, if Erling Haaland is passed fit for the Liverpool match then managers might feel as though they can’t pass up the opportunity to back the Norwegian with the armband.

After all, he did smash five goals against Leipzig in the Champions League and then another hat-trick against Burnley in the FA Cup.
