Jamal Musiala Next Club Odds: Man City In Driving Seat For Bayern Star
Jamal Musiala is one of Bayern Munich’s best players but the best betting sites believe he could be on the move this summer.
The Germany international has been linked with a move from the Allianz Arena after Bayern’s disappointing Bundesliga season. The Bavarians’ title hopes are over after Bayer Leverkusen secured the title on Sunday.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in Germany’s top flight this term, will be a key man for his country at Euro 2024.
His future at club level is less clear-cut, with just two years remaining on his deal with Bayern. In March, Musiala reportedly rejected the offer of an extension.
If he does seek pastures new, where might Musiala end up? Let's check out the odds provided by UK bookmakers before taking a closer look at some of his possible suitors.
Man City And Liverpool Set For Musiala Battle
Betting apps have Manchester City down as the 5/6 favourites to sign Musiala amid stories linking the Premier League champions with a deal.
The Independent writes that City are at the front of the queue for the attacking midfielder, who could cost as much as £120m at the end of the campaign.
City have demonstrated a willingness to spend big money on their main transfer targets, so that sort of fee would not necessarily be prohibitive.
Liverpool rebuilt their midfield last summer but we can expect another busy window as Jurgen Klopp is replaced in the dugout. The Reds have probably already identified targets and they are 2/1 to sign Musiala.
London Calling For Ex-Chelsea Academy Star?
Arsenal and Chelsea could also enter the race for Musiala’s signature, with the London clubs available at 3/1 and 9/2 respectively, according to football betting sites.
The Gunners will look to strengthen their squad whatever happens at the end of the season. Mikel Arteta wants to challenge for the big prizes year in, year out, and Musiala would add further quality to the Arsenal attack.
Chelsea have hardly been shy in splashing the cash since Todd Boehly and his consortium bought the club.
Things have not exactly gone to plan on the pitch in the last couple of years, though, and Chelsea’s absence from the Champions League could be a sticking point for the Blues academy product.
PSG And Real Madrid Among Outsiders To Bag Bayern Man
Many will see value in backing Paris Saint-Germain (10/1) or Real Madrid (12/1). PSG are set to lose Kylian Mbappe in the summer, so the French giants will be on the lookout for a new superstar to replace him.
The Stuttgart-born star is a different type of player to Mbappe, of course, but he is one of the most gifted young footballers in Europe and his arrival in Paris would excite the Parc des Princes faithful.
The is the sort of player that Madrid would ordinarily be interested in, but it might be hard for them to fit him into the same team as Jude Bellingham, who occupies a similar role in the Spanish capital.
Barcelona And Saudis Unlikely Options For Attacker
It is difficult to envisage Musiala ending up at Barcelona or in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League, as odds of 14/1 and 50/1 indicate.
Barca could be set for a difficult summer due to the ongoing financial issues at the club.
It is hard to see how they would muster up more than £100m for Musiala, who would not necessarily see a switch to Barca as a step up.
We do not yet know how active Pro League clubs will be in the upcoming transfer window, but Musiala is unlikely to be interested in a move to the Gulf at this stage of his career.
