Next Brighton Manager Odds: Hurzeler New Favourite To Replace De Zerbi
Brighton's search for a new manager to replace Roberto De Zerbi continues with a number of names emerging as possible candidates.
The best betting sites continue to monitor the situation, updating their odds accordingly.
De Zerbi sprang a surprise on the eve of the Premier League's final round of games by announcing he would be leaving the Amex after their season finale against Manchester United.
Brighton lost the game 2-0, but De Zerbi was given a heartwarming farewell by the fans who were able to enjoy their first ever European adventure thanks to the Italian.
Let’s take a look at the names in the frame for the Brighton job according to football betting sites.
St Pauli Coach Heads Field For Seagulls Post
Fabian Hurzeler is now the odds-on favourite with BetVictor to become the new manager of Brighton.
The 31-year-old Texas-born German has transformed the fortunes of St Pauli since replacing Timo Schultz in December 2022 when the team were threatened with relegation.
Hurzeler steered the club to a fifth-placed finish and last season won the title to ensure St Pauli will be playing top-flight football for the first time in 15 years.
His achievement has not gone unnoticed by Brighton who have reportedly included Hurzeler in their shortlist, and as a consequence he is the 4/6 favourite to fill the vacancy.

Rydstrom High On Brighton's Wish List
Innovative coach Henrik Rydstrom is also on the shortlist, but is well behind Hurzeler at 5/1 with Unibet to take the reins at the Amex Stadium.
Rydstrom has enjoyed unbridled success as a coach with both Kalmar and his current club Malmo with whom he won the Allsvenskan in 2023 and the Swedish Cup last month.
This season, Malmo are seven points clear at the top of the table, so another trophy looks within reach.
In an interview with Sky Sports in March, Rydstrom revealed he has rejected the notion of positional play, instead taking inspiration from Fluminense coach Fernando Diniz, who won the Copa Libertadores last year.
Rydstrom advocates a style of football in which players stay close together, moving up the pitch with one-twos and interchanges of possession.
Could Brighton take a chance on a man whose radical ideas would cause a sea change in the world of football? The Seagulls are the likeliest of the Premier League clubs to risk it.
Cooper Cut For Top-Flight Return
Brighton did not seek Premier League experience when they appointed Graham Potter or De Zerbi, so it is unlikely to be a key consideration this time either.
Steve Cooper resurrected Nottingham Forest's fortunes in the 2021-22 season, transforming them from relegation candidates into a team that secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Cooper was sacked by Forest earlier this season, but he will be confident of doing a solid job at Brighton if it were offered to him.
Bookmakers think so too as his odds have been slashed from 25/1 to 8/1.
Potter Out Of The Running
Ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter was the odds-on favourite to return to Brighton, but Bet365 make him a stand-out 12/1 for a dramatic return to the south coast.
A source connected to Potter contacted Sky Sports to say that the former Swansea boss “will not be returning to Brighton as head coach. He really enjoyed working with Brighton, but he understands and respect the fans’ reaction when he left for Chelsea”.
The source added: “It’s a great opportunity for any coach but now is not the right time for him…sometimes it’s best not to go back.”
Potter was in charge of the Seagulls for just over two seasons and is credited with setting the club on the road to the success they have enjoyed, but couldn't resist when Chelsea came knocking to replace Thomas Tuchel.
Saints Boss Drifts For Seagulls Job
Russell Martin will be a Premier League manager next season, there is no doubt about that.
Martin guided Southampton back to the top flight after beating Leeds 1-0 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Keeping Saints up will be a very difficult task, especially if he is restricted in the amount of business he can do in the transfer window.
Brighton would be the more secure job as the squad is considerably better than Southampton's, so choosing the Seagulls would make more sense if the job were offered to Martin, whose odds have lengthened from 8/1 to 12/1 with betting apps.
Rosenior Considering Options
Eyebrows were raised when Hull parted company with Liam Rosenior last month.
The former defender had outperformed expectations to take the Tigers to the brink of the Championship play-offs, only to be sacked soon after their seventh-place finish was confirmed.
Rosenior (25/1) should bounce back pretty quickly, but he is unlikely to get the Brighton job so early in his managerial career.
Amorim Among The Outsiders
Ruben Amorim is 25/1 to be Brighton's next manager. Amorim would be an ambitious hire, having been linked with the Liverpool job a few months back and later holding talks with West Ham.
However, swapping Sporting CP for Brighton would be a big decision.
Erik ten Hag's future remains uncertain, despite leading Manchester United to FA Cup glory by beating their neighbours CIty 2-1 at Wembley.
Ten Hag is 40/1 to be announced as Brighton's next manager, the same price as West Brom's Carlos Corberan.
