Northampton Town Next Manager Odds: Andy Woodman Favourite To Replace Jon Brady
Northampton are searching for a new manager after sacking Jon Brady and the best betting sites have drawn up a list of contenders for the role.
The Cobblers parted ways with Brady earlier this month after a six-match winless streak in League One.
Interim boss Ian Sampson was in charge for a 2-1 victory over Peterborough United, but a 3-0 defeat by Rotherham has left Northampton just two points clear of the drop zone.
The club will be keen to appoint a permanent replacement for Brady as soon as possible, but who will that be?
Check out the latest names on the list of candidates lining up to be Northampton's next manager.
Woodman The Favourite For Cobblers Job
Andy Woodman has emerged as the 4/6 favourite on betting apps for the vacancy at Sixfields Stadium.
A former goalkeeping coach who worked under Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace, Woodman has since stepped up to become the main man at Bromley.
He has done a fine job in the capital, winning the FA Trophy in 2022 and guiding the Ravens to promotion to League Two earlier this year.
With Bromley currently 14th in the table, it is no surprise that Woodman is being linked with jobs higher up the EFL.
Northampton are reportedly keen to appoint him, with some stories suggesting they have already made an approach to Bromley.

Sampson In Frame For Full-Time Role
Most interim managers want to get the job on a full-time basis, but we do not know if Sampson is one of them.
The 56-year-old has had a curious coaching career. He managed Northampton between 2009 and 2011, before moving into other roles at the club, including that of academy manager.
Sampson himself claims he does not know whether or not he wants the job on a permanent basis, but he is nevertheless a leading contender at 5/1 on football betting sites.
“I think the emotions go from 'yes' to 'no' after today's defeat [by Rotherham]", Sampson said.
"It's something that's in the back of my mind, but there's nothing concrete at the moment."

Savage Could Make Step Up Into EFL
Having initially preferred punditry to management after hanging up his boots as a player, Robbie Savage moved into the dugout with Macclesfield this year.
The phoenix club will almost certainly win promotion from the Northern Premier League Premier Division this season, with Savage’s side currently 13 points clear in top spot.
Yet as strange as it sounds, we do not know whether the Welshman is interested in being a manager for anyone other than Macclesfield, a club he has been involved with in various capacities over the last few years.
Nevertheless, Savage is priced at 5/1 to get the Northampton position.
Appleton Waiting For Next Opportunity
Michael Appleton’s last job did not go well. Appointed as Charlton Athletic manager in September 2023, Appleton only lasted until January after a 12-game winless streak.
He has not been back in a dugout since, but Northampton could make a move for a coach who is priced at 6/1 to be Brady’s permanent successor at Sixfields.
There are a few question marks over Appleton, however.
He was only at Blackpool for seven months prior to getting the Charlton job, which means he has not had a great deal of success since taking Lincoln City to the League One play-offs in 2021/22.
Highly rated earlier in his career, the jury is now out on Appleton as a manager.
Peaks Among The Dark Horses
At odds of 8/1, Andy Peaks is one of the dark horses for the Northampton job, which the club are hoping to fill ahead of this weekend’s clash with Charlton.
A Northampton native who once belonged to the club’s youth team, Peaks spent nine years in charge of non-league outfit Rushden & Diamonds between 2013 and 2022.
He then joined Tamworth, where he is doing a fantastic job.
Peaks’ team won promotion to the National League last term and they are currently six points clear of the drop zone in the fifth tier of the English game.
However, a lack of EFL experience means it would be a gamble for Northampton to appoint Peaks at this moment. The Cobblers are likely to look elsewhere for now.
