Fortune favours the brave, sometimes.
Regular followers will know this column's profit and loss tally has been dwindling, reduced from positive double figures to a far less endearing positive of just 5.83.
Time to get cracking then, and with a jam-packed midweek Championship calendar to look forward to, as well as a couple of juicy games just beneath in League One, now might be the moment for a double figure missile to land slap bang in your bookmaker's front garden.
It's one of those third tier encounters which arrives first under The Panel's microscope, as promoted Stockport entertain high-flyers Wycombe Wanderers under the lights at Edgeley Park on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
It's 10th against second, with the carrot of going joint-top alongside Birmingham City for the visitors, if they can secure a sixth straight victory in all competitions.
Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield's side have scored three times on each of the last four occasions, most recently edging out National League leaders York City in the first round of the FA Cup.
Followers of The Chairboys have been revelling in the entertainment, soaking up a goal-drenched spell.
They been drawn away once again to non league opponents Wealdstone in the second round of the FA Cup, as well as laying down a sustained challenge for the League One summit.

Early season see-saw games against divisional heavyweights Birmingham and Wrexham may have gone against them.
Since then the Buckinghamshire boys have been right on it, putting together a 10-game unbeaten sequence in the league, a run which includes eight wins, three of them away from home, and 22 goals scored.
Granted they've also conceded 10 in 10, but this is a side to be taken seriously.
For their part, Dave Challinor's promoted Stockport have been making a decent fist of life in the league above, going up as League 2 champions with 92 points back in May.
They too booked a place in the FA second round at the weekend, seeing off National Leaguers Forest Green 2-1 after extra time, for which their prize is a trip to lowly Brackley Town.
In the league they've been going well. I was inside Edgeley Park twice in recent days, firstly for their frustrating 1-1 draw with Northampton Town, followed by a 4-1 romp against a lacklustre Reading.
Both teams have scored each of their last five games, and I can easily see the same outcome here. This has the makings of a great watch.
Wycombe have the bit between their teeth and may just shade it, and you can back an away win in which both teams score at an inviting 11/2 on football betting sites.

Plymouth Vs Portsmouth, Tuesday, 20:00
Elsewhere, game of the night on Tuesday in the Championship has to be the relegation six-pointer at the foot of the table, aka 'The Dockyard Derby' (8pm).
Little love is lost between Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth, a fact highlighted by clashes between supporters which marred their most recent encounter in League One around 18 months ago.
Meeting again here in the Championship, there's huge pressure on both, 22nd-placed Plymouth against rock bottom Pompey.
The key to it is likely to be Argyle's return to Home Park and their obvious ability to turn it on in front of their own supporters.
The Green Army have already enjoyed raucous home wins against leaders Sunderland, Luton and well-fancied Blackburn Rovers. Games which all featured goals in time added-on time.
It's these home performances which give Argyle fans a realistic chance of staying up, especially given their woeful away form.
Manager Wayne Rooney effectively put all his eggs in this Tuesday night basket by making a raft of changes away to Leeds on Saturday and it may seem odd, but he might have been content to only lose 3-0.
Back into the side will come mainstays such as Adam Randell, Mo Cissoko, Morgan Whittaker and (if fit), key central defender Lewis Gibson.
Pompey salvaged a 1-1 draw at Hull City on Saturday in a game where they had only 28% of the ball.
They also have October's 2-1 away win against QPR (their only league win so far) to point to, but overall they've been poor.
I was in the Potteries five weeks ago to see them collapse 6-1 against Stoke, the obvious weak link being central defender Regan Poole.
If Argyle can get Cissoko running at him, Portsmouth will be in trouble. It might not be pretty, but the home side can edge this for one for what would be a vital home win at 5/4 on betting apps.
Tom Lee's Panel Tip 2: Plymouth To Beat Portsmouth - 5/4 With William Hill
Tom's double on both Wycombe and Plymouth to win is close to 14/1 with William Hill
