Tom Lee's Panel Tips For This Weekend

It was the bullet for Bulut after this column correctly forecast defeat for Cardiff City last time out, the Turk getting his marching orders after an away day win for Leeds United, our most recent weekend headline tip.

Loyal followers will rightly point out that while those feature selections keep on finding bull, it's the second selection which has been wayward.

So perhaps now is the time for a change of fortune as we look to harness some of that away day energy....

Bristol Rovers Vs Wycombe Wanderers, Saturday, 3pm

First up on this occasion, we'll make a beeline for League One and a pair of struggling home sides already sweating at this early point in the season, principally because both outfits have in common their so far less than potent attacking threat.

A meagre six goals in seven matches has been the return for Matt Taylor's Bristol Rovers, the Pirates neither attacking nor defending well in the opening weeks.

That two of those goals came at home to rock bottom Cambridge is hardly a barometer of limitless optimism, and the Memorial Ground men find themselves in a precarious 20th position in the league table.

Enter into the equation free-wheeling Wycombe Wanderers, a side who this season seem to have goals top of their list of priorities.

Early 3-2 defeats to current table-toppers Wrexham and Birmingham certainly weren't without merit, and since then they have really begun to motor, securing 10 points from a possible 12 while always scoring two goals a game.

One might be enough in the West Country, but we know head coach Matt Bloomfield simply loves to attack, and come what may The Chairboys will keep swarming forward.

Their in-form forward line includes Daniel Udoh, Cam Humphreys, Richard Kone and Garath McCleary; ample options for a side available at odds as big as 6/4 with betting sites.

Cambridge United Vs Lincoln City, Saturday, 3pm

Just like embattled Bristol Rovers, the reward in front of goal has been just six goals so far for basement boys Cambridge United.

Ironically, they played a good bit better when losing by the odd goal at Wycombe last weekend, but another defeat looms when Lincoln City come calling at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Imps absolutely destroyed Cambridge home and away last season, scoring an aggregate nine without reply including three in the corresponding away game.

Lincoln have had to settle for a point in both of the last two outings, held 0-0 at home by Wigan last Saturday and 1-1 away at Peterborough a fortnight ago.

Sixth in the table and poised for a productive autumn, they'll be eager to unblock their miniature three-point famine. This looks the ideal game to do so and betting apps will lay you 5/4 about a Lincoln victory.
