Mississippi Sports Betting Revenue up More than 100% in March
After posting nearly $41 million in total sports betting handle in February, Mississippi saw a 17.2% increase, bringing in $47,889,213 in March.
However, compared to this time last year, Mississippi saw a decrease of 5.3% after seeing a total handle of over $50.5 million.
With this spike in the handle, an uptick in revenue would make sense, and not only was there a spike, but it was north of 100%, coming in with an increase of 114.1%.
In total, Mississippi sports betting posted revenues of $4,042,432 in March compared to $1,887,995 in February.
Again, however, the revenue was down compared to March 2021, which brought in over $5.2 million (a 22.8% decrease).
As of now, 26 casinos offer sports betting, and no mobile sports betting is available.

Online Sports Betting Update
There hasn't been much progress as far as online sports betting in Mississippi. Earlier this year, House member Cedric Burnett introduced HB 184, which would allow mobile sports betting anywhere.
But Legislators killed all measures to legalize mobile sports wagering in Mississippi, Jay McDaniel, executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission said in early March.
There have been deals, such as ones involving Fubo Gaming and Caesars, but of course, that’s pending legalized online sports betting.
“The legalization of sports betting is entirely up to our state Legislature,” McDaniel told Gambling.com. “To those in Mississippi who wish to have it, I would say contact your state senator or representative and let them know your thoughts.”
