How to Watch Nebraska vs. Illinois

  • Date: Friday, October 6, 2023
  • Kick Off: 8:00 PM ET
  • Location: Memorial Stadium – Champaign, IL
  • Where to Watch: FS1

The Cornhuskers (2-3; 2-3 ATS) are coming off a heavy 45-7 home loss to the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines. After two straight home wins over Northern Illinois 35-11 and Louisiana Tech 28-14, Nebraska didn’t stand a chance against one of the best teams in the country. The Cornhuskers were outgained 436-305 in total yards and couldn’t get anything going at Michigan’s half.

Nebraska is scoring just 18.8 points per game (tied-122nd in the nation) while yielding 23.8 points in return (tied-57th). The Cornhuskers lean on their ground game, averaging 209.0 rushing yards per game and 5.5 per carry, while sophomore QB Heinrich Haarberg has thrown for 477 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception so far this season.

Nebraska vs. Illinois Betting Trends:

  • Illinois is 4-0 ATS in its last four games against Nebraska
  • Nebraska is 1-4 ATS in its last five outings in Week 6
  • Four of their last five H2H duels have produced more than 50 points in total

On the other side, the Fighting Illini (2-3 SU; 0-5 ATS) suffered a 44-19 defeat at the Purdue Boilermakers in Week 5. Their defense fell apart after the break and yielded three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter. Illinois was outgained 406-375 in total yards, completing just two of its 13 third-down attempts (Purdue went 8-for-13).

The Fighting Illini now rank 105th in the nation in points scored (21.6 per game) and 103rd in points allowed (30.6). Sophomore QB Luke Altmyer has tossed for 1,076 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions thus far, and he’s also run 47 times for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

Nebraska vs. Illinois Odds & College Football Picks

The Fighting Illini are unbeaten in three straight dates with the Cornhuskers and have covered in four consecutive encounters with Nebraska. This is the clash of the two bad teams, but I’m certainly looking at Illinois -3.5 (-110) with BetMGM  as one of my best college football picks for Friday night.

⭐ College Football Pick 1: Illinois -3.5 (-110) at BetMGM

Nebraska’s offense is pretty one-dimensional. The Cornhuskers’ passing offense has been awful thus far, and I’m expecting Illinois to find a way to slow down Nebraska’s rushing a bit. The Fighting Illini will attack through the air (Nebraska allows only 2.9 yards per carry) and their passing offense should make the difference down the stretch. Hereof, give me the Fighting Illini -3.5 (-110) at BetMGM as my first Nebraska vs. Illinois prediction.

⭐ College Football Pick 2: Over 43.0 Points (-110) at Caesars

Nebraska’s run D is good, but its passing defense has been pretty bad so far this season. Both Nebraska and Illinois have struggled to keep their opponents off the scoreboard, so I’m expecting them to combine for more than 43 points in this game. Nebraska will run a lot and eat the clock, but Illinois will look to speed things up, so I’m taking Over 43.0 Points (-110) at Caesars as my second college football pick for Friday night.

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State Betting Trends & College Football Predictions

How to Watch K-State vs. Oklahoma State

  • Date: Friday, October 6, 2023
  • Kick Off: 7:30 PM ET
  • Location: Boone Pickens Stadium – Stillwater, OK
  • Where to Watch: ESPN

The Wildcats are coming fresh off a bye. Back in Week 4, they beat UCF 44-31 as 6.5-point home favorites to improve to 3-1 SU and ATS on the season. K-State ranks 14th in the nation in points scored (39.5 per game) and 15th in total yards (482.3), while its run defense allows a paltry 73.3 yards per game and 2.5 per carry. Senior QB Will Howard has completed 65.5 percent of his passing attempts, tossing for 1,072 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions, and sophomore running back DJ Giddens has 530 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns on his season tally.

The Cowboys (2-2; 1-3 ATS), on the other side, have lost two straight contests to South Alabama 33-7 and Iowa State 34-27. They are scoring 22.0 points per game in 2023 (103rd) while surrendering 23.8 points in return (tied-57th). Three guys have played under center thus far, and the Cowboys desperately need more from their offense. Oklahoma State is coming off a bye, too, hoping to turn the corner in Week 6.

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State Betting Trends:

  • K-State is 7-2 ATS in its last nine games
  • Oklahoma State is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games
  • Oklahoma State is 3-9 ATS in its last 12 dates with K-State
  • The under is 4-1 in their last five H2H games

College Football Pick 3: Under 54.0 Points (-110) at BetMGM

The only way Oklahoma State can upset the odds in this game is to bring its best defense. The Cowboys have a solid defensive unit that is capable of slowing the Wildcats down, so my best Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State pick is Under 54.0 Points (-110) at BetMGM.

College Football Pick 4: Kansas State -11.5 (-110) at Caesars

It’s tough to lay points on the road, but the Cowboys will be in big trouble should their offense continue to struggle. I’ll take Kansas State -11.5 (-110) at Caesars, but it feels like the totals are a way to go in this matchup. None of the last five encounters between K-State and Oklahoma State has seen more than 51 points on the scoreboard.
