PokerStars Brings SCOOP Series to Three US States Simultaneously This Year

The PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is returning (SCOOP). For the first time in U.S. SCOOP history, the Pennsylvania online poker, New Jersey online poker and Michigan online poker events will run simultaneously from March 25 to April 11.

How the PokerStars Tournament Works

PokerStars iconic SCOOP will award a combined total of more than $4.5 million in prizes across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan.

Overall, the tournament will guarantee over $4.5 million in prizes. Pennsylvania’s (PASCOOP) event will have the biggest purse at $2 million, while Michigan’s (MISCOOP) purse comes to $1.5 million and $1 million going to the NJSCOOP in New Jersey.

Starting now, players can already get in the action through their seat via depositor freeroll offers with satellites starting at $1 in addition to the SCOOP Spin & Go’s offered at $3 to give players a chance to earn a spot in the $300 Main Event.

Starting April 10, each state will have a two-day online poker main event, the mini main event and high-roller main event.

The two-day main event will be a $300 buy-in, with the mini main event a $50-buy in. The high roller main event has an entry fee of $1,000.

For each Main Event, there will be $48,000 total ($16,000 each state) worth of tickets awarded in depositor freerolls that are taking place on April 3 and April 11.

SCOOP’s Debut in Michigan

Last year was the first time the PokerStars SCOOP series entered Michigan. The state went live with its online poker platform during 2021, which was also the same year online sports betting and internet casino gaming also debuted.

To commemorate the occasion, PokerStars offered $2 million in guarantees for Michigan players. MISCOOP ended up breaking the guarantee and giving out more than $2.3 million.
