Valentine’s Day Grinding: Poker’s Top Five Power Couples
It’s Valentine’s Day, and we assume that love is in the air for poker's power couples. Of course, should someone happen to put a bad beat on their partner today, it may kill the mood. However, if all goes well, more than a few people in poker will feel flush on Feb. 14.
With love the dominant theme of the day, we couldn’t resist looking at some of poker’s romantic partnerships. Yes, that’s right, even poker players can find love. There have been quite a few poker couples over the years.
Unfortunately, a few of them, including Lex Veldhuis/Evelyn Ng and Jennifer Harman/Marco Traniello, have hit the rail. However, some relationships have held up and, in recent years, new ones have flourished. To prove it, here are the top five power couples in poker …
1. Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak
Merry Christmas from me and @PhilLaak! 🎄❤️🎅🏻 pic.twitter.com/lRuRzeVHAG
— Jennifer Tilly (@JenniferTilly) December 25, 2022
No poker couple is more loved than Tilly and Laak. Despite coming from different worlds – Tilly acting and Laak poker – the two have been inseparable since 2004. They first met at the Commerce Casino in LA during a WPT invitational.
Fast-forward to 2022, Laak was there to induct Tilly into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. He said during the ceremony that Tilly was the one for him because she read all the poker strategy books he suggested. The two are still together, much to the delight of poker fans worldwide.
2. Katie Lindsay and Chris Moorman
Guess I’m going to get to stare at @katelinds even more often now! I’m incredibly proud to announce that we have both just signed with @ACR_POKER Really looking forward to what the next few years brings. pic.twitter.com/1WzImR7Yvs
— Chris Moorman (@Moorman1) November 1, 2021
Poker players who play together, stay together. That’s the motto Lindsay and Moorman appear to live by. The two poker pros got married in 2015 and they’ve been grinding the tournament circuit ever since.
Such is their bond that America's Cardroom made them ambassadors in 2021. Perhaps the most testing time for Lindsay and Moorman also came in 2021 when they found themselves heads-up in a WSOP Online Circuit event. Moorman won on that occasion and, luckily, it didn’t cost him his marriage.
3. Kristen Bicknell and Alex Foxen
Thanks for all the nice words. This was a super fun tournament from start to finish. It was well worth the wait to get bracelet #1 in this one. Couldn’t do it without my two favorite beings pic.twitter.com/c6XNkGN5Ck
— Alex Foxen (@WAFoxen) June 26, 2022
Bicknell and Foxen are in the running for most outspoken couple in poker. But, when they’re not voicing their frustrations about COVID restrictions, they’re actually pretty good at poker.
Bicknell and Foxen have won over $33 million in live tournaments. However, they famously incurred the poker community’s wrath in 2018 when they appeared to soft play against each other during the final table of a $5,000 MSPT event.
4. Katie Dozier and Collin Moshman
Dozier and Moshman may not be in the limelight like some poker couples, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t as tight as Phil Hellmuth in a cash game.
The two have been together for more than a decade. What’s their secret for staying together so long? Sit & Go tournaments. Moshman was one of the original SNG masters and, alongside Dozier, he’s still teaching people how to beat one-table tournaments.
5. Marle Cordeiro and Ben Spragg
Two big silly grins from Mr and Mrs Spragg.

Got married in Las Vegas to the love of my life @MarleCordeiro.
Couldn't be any happier. pic.twitter.com/cjdQcUqgdZ
Perhaps the funniest poker couple on our list is Cordeiro and Spragg. The two got married in August 2021 after connecting through their shared passion for streaming.
Spragg is a poker player and Twitch streamer who works with PokerStars. Cordeiro is a YouTuber who now plays almost as much poker as her husband. In what should come as a shock to very few people, they tied the knot in Las Vegas.
