Premier League Predictions Gameweek 13 - Brian McClair On The Panel

Brian McClair's Premier League Picks

Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League game.

In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.

His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.

Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season and will pass expert judgement with his score predictions on all games whilst The Panel team will examine the best football betting sites to find the best odds should his predictions hit the back of the net.

Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.

West Ham Vs Arsenal, Saturday, 5.30pm

Both West Ham and Arsenal head into Saturday evening's Premier League clash with newfound confidence.

The Hammers have endured a largely miserable season so far but claimed an impressive 2-0 win over Newcastle on Monday night to offer hope of progress under Julen Lopetegui.

Arsenal recently welcomed back Martin Odegaard and duly made light work of Nottingham Forest in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest before thrashing Sporting 5-1 in the Champions League.

Brian says: “Arsenal have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League games against the Hammers, winning 10 and drawing five.

"West Ham have lost more home Premier League games to Arsenal than any other opponent.

"They've lost 36 overall with 15 of those coming at home and I think that's going to be 16 come Saturday night."

Brian McClair's Panel Pick 1: West Ham 1-3 Arsenal - 9/1 with Betovo

Man Utd Vs Everton, Sunday, 1.30pm

Ruben Amorim takes charge of his first home game in charge of Manchester United on Sunday with the visit of struggling Everton to Old Trafford.

The Amorim-era got off to a flying start at Ipswich last week when Marcus Rashford put the Red Devils ahead after just 81 seconds, but Omari Hutchinson fine equalizer means United have recorded just two Premier League wins in their last six games.

It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the Toffees, who are sitting just above the relegation zone ahead of a daunting run of fixtures for the Toffees prior to the festive period.

Brian says: “I was present at this fixture last season when United won 2-0, but Everton were the better team, dominated large parts of the game and were unlucky not to get something out of the game.

"I tipped Eveton to win last week and despite playing against 10 men for almost 50 minutes, yet again the Toffees failed to find the net, which has been a problem all season.

"I suppose you could say at some point they are bound to score goals, but not at Old Trafford and I'm going for a repeat of the scoreline in this fixture last time."

Brian McClair's Panel Pick 2: Man Utd 2-0 Everton - 6/1 with Betovo

Liverpool Vs Man City, Sunday, 4pm

Liverpool host Manchester City in a huge Premier League game on Sunday.

The Reds, who were once again impressive when beating Real Madrid on Wednesday night, opened up an eight-point gap on the champions after beating Southampton 3-2 in dramatic fashion last weekend.

Arne Slot’s side could go 11 points clear of the champions, who are in something of a rut having been thrashed 4-0 by Tottenham on Saturday, before surrendering a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Brian says: “I don't think this is a title decider but it will certainly make a big difference in terms of the season.

"City have been defending so poorly, letting in seven goals in their last two games and to win leagues you have to be tight at the back.

"Liverpool last week showed the kind of form you'd expect from potential champions to come back from a goal down to beat Southampton.

"City can't afford to lose this game, so I'm going to buck the recent trend and go for an away win."

Brian McClair's Panel Pick 3: Liverpool 1-2 Man City - 9/1 with Betovo
