Chloe Kelly Next Club Odds: PSG Move Looks Most Likely

Chloe Kelly is in the headlines ahead of a potential transfer and the best betting sites have opened a market on where she might end up.

The Daily Mail have reported that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay big money for the Manchester City winger, who has scored 27 goals in 82 appearances for the club since moving to the northwest in 2020.

Kelly, who was part of the England squad that won the European Championship on home soil in 2022, is under contract at City until 2025. 

That has alerted potential suitors to the possibility that she could be available for transfer if she does not put pen to paper on extended terms with her current employers.

PSG Plot Move For Manchester City Star

The aforementioned report states that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to make Kelly the highest-paid women’s player outside the United States. 

Those sort of wages would be hard for anyone to turn down, and PSG will hope that they can also persuade Kelly that the move would make sense in purely footballing terms too.

The French club are not as dominant in the women’s game as they are in the men’s, but they are now regulars in the Champions League knockout stage and it is surely only a matter of time before they are going toe-to-toe with Lyon domestically. 

PSG are priced at 2/5 to land Kelly with football betting sites, which suggests they have an excellent chance of landing her.

City Will Not Give Up Key Player Without Fight

Needless to say, Manchester City will be loath to lose one of their most important players. 

Kelly has been integral to the team since making the move from Everton in 2020, and at 26 years old she is theoretically approaching the peak of her powers.

City will have to prove that they share Kelly’s ambition. They will likely point to the fact that they are in contention to win the Women’s Super League this season, with just three points separating them from top spot as things stand.

City will be keen to open contract talks with the forward as soon as possible, although she has indicated that she would prefer to wait until the end of the campaign. 

As a result, Kelly is a 5/2 chance to remain with her current club in Manchester.

Arsenal Could Enter Race For England International

Kelly began her career at Arsenal. The London-born winger made her debut at the age of 17, but she only went on to make just 16 appearances for the club before being loaned, and then sold, to Everton.

In hindsight, Arsenal must wish they had kept hold of Kelly. 

They could attempt to re-sign her at the end of the current campaign, with the Gunners listed at 4/1 with betting apps. 

However, Manchester City would presumably prefer to sell her abroad rather than to a domestic rival.

Barcelona And Bayern Munich Dark Horses As Things Stand

Barcelona already have two England players in their squad, with Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh making the move in 2022. 

The Catalan club could attempt to bring their international team-mate to the Spanish league in the summer.

Barcelona are the reigning European champions, so Kelly would strongly consider any offer from Jonatan Giraldez’s side. They can be backed at 6/1.

Bayern Munich, available at 8/1 at the time of writing, could enter the race for Kelly if it becomes clear she is available. 

However, their women’s team are not among the major European powers just yet.

Lyon And Wolfsburg Also Available In The Market

Lyon have long been one of the leading lights in the women’s game. 

They are on course to win yet another league title in France this season, while they are the second-favourites to win the Champions League behind Barcelona. 

Lyon are available at 10/1 to secure Kelly’s services.

Wolfsburg are outsiders at 14/1. European champions in 2012 and 2014, the German outfit also finished as runners-up in the Champions League last season. 

They are still one of the best teams in Europe, although Wolfsburg may struggle to compete with the wages that the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Barcelona could offer to Kelly. That is one of the reasons why they are a long shot.
