Holly Willoughby Next Job Odds: Is Gladiators Next For The Popular Presenter?
Holly Willoughby shocked This Morning fans last year when the star announced she was stepping down from the ITV daytime show after 14 years.
The TV presenter, 43, had been a mainstay on our TV screens most mornings since she landed the This Morning job in 2009, but now viewers only have Dancing on Ice to watch if they want their weekly Holly fix.
Holly quit This Morning last year following an alleged kidnap plot against her, and after the departure of her long-standing co-host Phillip Schofield.
Her Dancing on Ice return was only confirmed a couple weeks before this year's series got underway in mid-January, and she was joined by new co-host Stephen Mulhern.
But with rumours rife that the ITV ice-skating show could be skating on thin ice, it has led to speculation on UK betting sites about what Holly might do next.
In terms of TV presenting, her diary looks fairly clear after ITV's The Games and BBC survival show Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, both of which she co-hosted, were reportedly shelved after one series each.
There is absolutely no doubt Holly will be hugely in demand, and she could even be poached by her own husband, TV producer Dan Baldwin, who is co-founder of Hungry Bear Media.
Holly To Join Bradley?
Dan is at the helm of the recently rebooted BBC series Gladiators, and it is just 6/4 that Holly joins the presenting line up for the next series.
The revamped show is currently co-hosted by father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh.
But Holly and Bradley are known to have great chemistry together, and have even presented together before.
They fronted a Christmas special and one season of Hungry Bear series Take Off with Bradley & Holly in 2019 and 2021 respectively, but could they reunite on Gladiators?
In November, a TV insider told The Sun newspaper: "As she’s such a big star, she’s a natural fit for a huge entertainment show, which the reboot of Gladiators unquestionably is."
Holly has also been linked to a new jungle-based series on Netflix.
The Sun reported in January that she was at the top of the streaming giant's list to work alongside explorer Bear Grylls on a new show, during which contestants would be pitted against Bear.
A source told the publication at the time: "Bear is working with a production company for Netflix. They want Holly to host."
Holly To Host NTAs?
While Holly is 2/1 on specials betting sites to join a Netflix show next, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if she ended up presenting either the National Television Awards (3/1), or the BAFTA TV Awards (5/1).
After years of live TV presenting on This Morning, she would have no trouble whatsoever commanding the crowd or the celebrities at either of the star-studded events.
In 2021, Holly made a cameo in British crime drama series Midsomer Murders, and it is 10/1 she goes on to join a British soap next.
This could be welcoming news to EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street bosses. If Holly does want to go into acting, perhaps a more likely destination would be the play 2:22 A Ghost Story (4/1).
Since the show began in 2021, it has featured several stars not necessarily renowned for their acting, including podcaster Giovanna Fletcher, former Love Island host Laura Whitmore and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl.
Strictly Come Holly?
But if Holly fancied taking to the stage for a different type of performance, then why not Strictly Come Dancing?
She has been linked to the BBC show time and time again, and it's just 8/1 on betting apps that she joins the cast or replaces either Tess Daly or Claudia Winkleman as one of the Latin and ballroom programme's co-hosts.
Should she join the BBC juggernaut it could spell the end of her time on ITV, and she is just 2/1 to leave the channel altogether - as her former This Morning co-host Phillip did last year - while it's 1/2 she remains on ITV if you're looking for a safe option to use free bet offers on.
If Holly does stick around on ITV, then perhaps she could co-host I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! again?
It seems unlikely that Ant and Dec would depart their longstanding roles on the programme, but they have just announced a break from Saturday Night Takeaway to spend more time with their families.
Holly could be seen as a perfect replacement, because she has plenty of jungle experience after co-hosting a series of the show in 2018 alongside Dec, when she temporarily took Ant's place.
If not the jungle, then it's a massive 33/1 on new betting sites she makes a shock return to This Morning.
However, that doesn't look too likely after ITV recently announced Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley as the new Monday to Thursday co-hosts of the brunchtime show.
The programme really put Holly on the map, and wherever she ends up next a core viewership will no doubt follow.
