NFL Week 9 Picks: The Panel's Picks For Thursday Night Football - Texans @ Jets

Week 9 in the NFL gets under way as the Houston Texans and New York Jets face off Thursday night.

The best betting sites have Thursday night's game covered and we are confident of more thrilling action on the gridiron.

Texans Vs Jets Pick: Jets To Cover On Halloween

A playoff spot is probably out of reach for the Jets now, but their defense is one of the better ones in the NFL and rank 11th in points allowed and 2nd in passing yards.

The problem with New York is the critical points of the game. Aaron Rodgers can not get the offense that one extra score, and the defense seems to falter when they need a crucial late stop.

Part of that may be because the defense has forced only six turnovers in eight games.

However, the Jets did force Minnesota and Buffalo all the way and if they hold Houston to under 250 yards, win number three could be on the cards.

The Panel takes a swing here on Halloween with the Jets to win by a field goal or more.

Panel Pick 1: New York Jets -2 Points @ 10/11 With Bet365

Thursday Night Football Predictions:

Texans Vs Jets Prediction: Expect This To Be Tight

Both teams have been involved in their fair share of close games this season.

Four of the Jets' last five games have been decided by six points or fewer.

Four of Houston's last five games, including last week's 23-20 win at home to the Colts, have been won or lost by the same margin.

With their season on the line and on home soil, The Panel are going for a Jets win by six points or fewer.

The Panel Pick 2: The New York Jets To Win By 1-6 points @ 5/2 With BoyleSports

Texans Vs Jets Preview: Jets Can Keep CJ Quiet

The New York Jets' pass defense is ranked second in the NFL and that brings us to CJ Stroud.

The Jets have allowed more than 234 yards only once this season and that was against the Pittsburgh Steelers when they gave up 260.

Yes, Stroud is a dynamic passer, but with Stefon Diggs out with a torn ACL and Nico Collins likely to miss another week, that is a huge void.

The Panel think that Houston’s lack of depth and the Jets passing defense will be enough to get the job done again.

The Panel Pick 3: CJ Stroud Under 233.5 Passing Yards @ 5/6 With Betfred
