The Ascot Stakes - 17:05: Royal Ascot (Tuesday)
You can understand why My Lyka has been put in as favourite for the Ascot Stakes on Tuesday.
A winner over a mile and a half and a mile and a quarter in France, the Intello gelding made his debut for Willie Mullins in a novices’ hurdle last month at Killarney, where he went down by the bob of a head to a talented and progressive rival in Nas Na Riogh, with the pair of them nicely clear.
That was his first run in almost a year, and it was his first run since being gelded, so there is every chance that he will come on for it.
He obviously stays well, but he had the class to get to within 10 lengths of Group 1 winner Simca Mille in a listed race at Chantilly last year.
He represents the Willie Mullins/Ryan Moore combination that has been responsible for two of the last 10 winners of this race, and that is always to be feared in these staying races at Royal Ascot.
But, unsurprisingly, he has been priced up defensively, and Boher Road may represent better value.
Trainer Jarlath Fahey and rider Ronan Whelan have previous in this race too, they teamed up to win the 2016 renewal with Jennies Jewel, and it is probable that this race has been Boher Road’s target for a little while.
Of course, they were both at a lower level than the level that he is going to have to reach if he is going to be competitive in an Ascot Stakes.
A one-mile-five-furlong handicap at Navan in April, which he won easily off a mark of 81, and a two-mile-one-furlong handicap at Killarney last month, which he probably won more easily off a mark of 88.
He is up to a mark of 97 now, and he is up in grade, but he could be well able for this grade.
He is lightly raced, he has won four of his nine races on the flat, and he is progressive.
He probably put up a career-best performance last time, he appeared to win with plenty in hand, and he appeared to appreciate the step up to an extended two miles.
He could progress again, and the step up to two and a half miles could elicit further improvement. He looks over-priced.
Tanya Stevenson's Tip For The 14:30 At Royal Ascot - Facteur Cheval
Despite a 33-1 winner last year in Triple Time, the Queen Anne has a great record for the favourites or those towards the head of the market.
There will be a potential battle of wits and speed between Audience and Royal Scotsman drawn on opposite sides of the course.
Of course, on of those can just burn up the turf and be gone before the others have thought about getting organised.
The fact that Inspiral has gone to the Prince Of Wales’s on Wednesday could be taken as Cheveley Park and John & Thady Gosden think they have this race covered with the Lockinge winner.
However, I believe this could go to France in Facteur Cheval. His last five races have been Group 1s, finishing in the first three in all of them.
His second in the Sussex Stakes to Paddington really caught my eye. And watching the Queen Elizabeth Stakes again he never got a clear run through yet still gave Tahiyra a fair start and picked her up for second.
He had no chance with Big Rock. Big Rock hasn’t got his soft ground today while Facteur Cheval can handle this, I sense Maxime Guyon (who won this race before on Solow 2015) will keep him closer and ready to pounce.

Tanya Stevenson's Tip For The 17:05 At Royal Ascot - Divine Comedy
This is normally a race that is dominated to trainers who have a licence for both flat and jumps, Nicky Henderson won it last year with Ahorsewithnoname.
It is also a race which gives apprentices a chance to shine, as a a little weight alleviated from a burden can come in very handy.
Kaiya Fraser is value for his 5lb claim and it has shown in his association with Divine Comedy. The pair have teamed up ten times and they have never finished out of the first three with five wins.
Divine Comedy has raced over this distance five times and won three too.
It’s a lovely story as the horse has come from obscurity on a rating of 59 to todays lofty 97 and the way he ran at Haydock last time it looks as though there is more to come.
The Ascot Stakes often courts hard-luck stories for those who have to be held up well Divine Comedy should race in contention, and she should be out of trouble.
It might be her flat pace might see her get home ahead of some of her jumping counterparts.

14:30 Ascot: The Panel Selection - Big Rock
Royal Ascot opens with a Group 1 over the straight mile which can go the way of French raider Big Rock.
His seasonal reappearance is best forgotten after he stumbled leaving the gate and his performance over CD in the Group 1 QE11 on Champions Day last October is the best form on offer.
He beat today’s favourite by 6 lengths that day, and although he would prefer softer ground he was second in the French derby on good ground, beaten only by the subsequent Arc winner Ace Impact, and must go close here.
15:45 Ascot: The Panel Selection - Big Evs
Big Evs 2yo season culminated in a Group 1 victory at the Breeders Cup in the US.
After a facile victory on his seasonal debut he steps up into this all age Group 1 and has a great chance to continue his progression.

His sire Blue Point was an Ascot specialist and won this race two years running before retiring to stud where he smashed the first-season sire records last year.
Big Evs has already shown a liking for the track, winning at this meeting last year, and under regular jockey Tom Marquand this 5f speedball can maintain a family tradition.
16:25 Ascot: The Panel Selection - Rosallion
Rosallion attempts to reverse a length and a half beating by Notable Speech in the 2000 Guineas but may be up to the task.
He has since won the Irish Guineas showing a withering turn of foot to make up three lengths in the final furlong of a steadily run race.
Tactics will be key, as will luck in running, but if Rosallion can be delivered late he can turn the tables on his Newmarket conqueror.
High class French and Irish raiders make this a race to savour but the Newmarket Guineas form looks the best on offer.
