Friday's Wimbledon Predictions: The Panel's Best Bets And Tips For Day Five

Wimbledon Day Five Best Bets

Day five of Wimbledon sees many of the big guns from the men’s and women’s draw return to action for their round three matches.

Jannik Sinner overcame a tough test in the form of his compatriot Matteo Berrettini to seal his place in the third round, firming up his status as favourite on UK betting sites

Reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz eased past Aleksandar Vukic in his second-round duel, but faces a tough battle against American Frances Tiafoe.

In the women’s draw, Coco Gauff has been in formidable form in the first two rounds and faces British qualifier Sonay Kartal.

Emma Raducanu comes up against ninth seed Maria Sakkari as she aims to reach the fourth round for the first time since 2021.

The Panel have run the rule over these four matches and made betting predictions using the best betting odds that can be made into a 14/1 fourfold with Betway.

Jannik Sinner Vs Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction

Sinner’s reward for defeating Berrettini in the last round is Kecmanovic, who himself impressed with a victory over 27th seed Tallon Griekspoor in the second round.

Sinner will be bullish over his chances of progressing into the second week of Wimbledon without drama, having won all three of his previous meetings against the Serb.

Tennis betting sites certainly believe so, making Sinner a best-price 1/16 to advance to the fourth round.

Berrettini did expose some flaws in Sinner’s game, although his experience and expertise on grass gave him the opportunity to put the No.1 seed under pressure.

Sinner still came through in four sets and The Panel are not expecting Kecmanovic to put forward the same style of performance as Berrettini, especially after a lengthy five-set battle with Griekspoor.

Odds of 4/6 are available for Sinner to coast through without dropping a set.

The Panel Tip: Jannik Sinner To Beat Miomir Kecmanovic 3-0 – 4/6 With Bet365

Carlos Alcaraz Vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction

Alcaraz won in straight sets for the second match on the bounce as he brushed aside Vukic with little difficulty. However, Tiafoe will present a tougher obstacle for the reigning champion.

The American was two sets down in round one before he mounted a comeback to defeat Matteo Arnaldi and then surged through his second-round contest against Borna Coric.

Tiafoe and Alcaraz have split their two previous two meetings, with the Spaniard coming out on top in their semi-final clash at the 2022 US Open on his way to the title.

That match went all the way to five sets, while Tiafoe won their only other contest on clay in 2021. The Panel are expecting a closer duel than betting apps predict, with Alcaraz backed at a best price of 1/14

Instead, they’re looking at Tiafoe to take at least one set off the Spaniard by picking the American on a +2.5 set handicap at odds of 11/8

The Panel Tip: Frances Tiafoe +2.5 Set Handicap Vs Carlos Alcaraz – 11/8 With William Hill

Emma Raducanu Vs Maria Sakkari Prediction

Raducanu looked in great touch in the second round, easing past Elise Mertens by dropping only three games. She surprised The Panel with the manner of her victory, but she seems to be nearing the form that saw her win the US Open in 2021.

The 21-year-old has to take her game to the next level against ninth seed Sakkari in a rematch of the 2021 US Open semi-final.

On that occasion, Raducanu cruised past the Greek in straight sets, but this could be a tougher task considering Sakkari’s recent form.

She reached the final of Indian Wells before losing out to Iga Swiatek and did not drop a set in her first two matches at Wimbledon.

Sakkari’s Grand Slam record isn’t great, especially at Wimbledon, where she is bidding to reach the fourth round for the first time.

The Panel are doubling down on a three-set contest in a Raducanu match after failing last time out. Odds of 13/10 are available on Unibet for over 2.5 sets.

The Panel Tip: Emma Raducanu Vs Maria Sakkari Over 2.5 Sets – 13/10 With Unibet

Coco Gauff vs Sonay Kartal Prediction

Kartal has been one of the surprise stories of Wimbledon and has battled her way to the third round with two impressive performances.

She faces the challenge of a lifetime to knock the World No.2 out of the tournament as Gauff is playing outstanding tennis.

The American looks a good shout with online bookmakers at 10/3 to win Wimbledon for the first time after easing past Anca Todoni in the second round.

The 20-year-old has only dropped six games so far and The Panel believe she will cruise through to the fourth round. Although Kartal has played above expectations, Gauff’s quality should be too much to handle.

The Panel are tipping this one to be over relatively quickly, backing under 18.5 games at Evens

The Panel Tip: Coco Gauff Vs Sonay Kartal Under 18.5 Games – Evens With Ladbrokes
