BetRivers & DraftKings Alliance on the Cards for Pennsylvania

It could soon be the dawn of a new era for one of the biggest PA online casinos as media reports reveal that BetRivers could soon be up for sale. The story was broken by Bloomberg media house in a report claiming that Rush Street Interactive - which owns the casino brand - is considering selling it and is currently in negotiations with DraftKings.

Although Rush Street is yet to respond to the report, the company has not put forward a denial, either.

DraftKings’ Aggressive Acquisition Strategy Lends Credence to The Report

Approached by Bloomberg for a comment, DraftKings declined to confirm the specific negotiations, but added that it does communicate with several other firms as per normal business practice. Make of that what you will, but a denial it certainly is not.

DraftKings most recently concluded the acquisition of Golden Nugget, which has contributed significantly to its performance in the Keystone State. Adding BetRivers to the fold would certainly lead to a significant increase in market share, given that the latter is one of the top performing casino brands across Pennsylvania.

BetRivers CEO Richard Schwartz had said in a November 2023 press statement that the casino was “outperforming all internal expectations”, stating the brand was among the “top five online operators in the US”, with revenue growing by 15% from the previous year and marketing costs dropping by 24% across the same period.

This makes BetRivers a formidable contributor in terms of ensuring the Pennsylvania gambling industry revenue remains at the top tier of the US market. Rivers Casino PA, which is the retail partner for BetRivers, is equally popular with PA gamblers due to its track record of giving out massive jackpot wins.
