Broncos vs. Bears Betting Trends & NFL Week 4 Predictions

How to Watch Broncos vs. Bears

  • Date: Sunday, October 1, 2023
  • Kick Off: 1:00 PM ET
  • Location: Soldier Field – Chicago, IL
  • Where to Watch: CBS

The Broncos are coming off an embarrassing 70-20 defeat at the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. They gave up the most points in a game since 1966 to go with a whopping 726 total yards. The Broncos also lost the turnover battle 3-0 while gaining 294 yards through the air and just 69 on the ground. Russell Wilson completed 23 of his 38 passing attempts, finishing with a touchdown and an interception, and Courtland Sutton had eight catches for 91 yards and a touchdown while losing a couple of fumbles.

Marvin Mims Jr. was a lone bright spot last Sunday, scoring on a 99-yard kickoff return. The Broncos are now 0-3 ATS on the season and 1-5 ATS in their last six contests dating back to 2022. Seven of their previous eight games overall have gone over the total.

Key Players Missing: TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring), LB Frank Clark (questionable, hip), S Justin Simmons (questionable, hip), LB Josey Jewell (questionable, groin)

The Bears didn’t stand a chance in Week 3 when they visited the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. They were down 34-0 at halftime. The Chiefs outgained the Bears 456-203 in total yards while posting a staggering 31 first-downs. Justin Fields completed just 11 of his 22 passing attempts and threw for 99 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, while DJ Moore had three receptions for 41 yards and a TD. Fields also posted 11 carries for 47 yards.

The Bears, who sit at 0-3 ATS for the season, are now winless in 13 consecutive outings at any location. They’ve gone 1-10 ATS over their previous 11 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six showings at Soldier Field. The over is 11-3 in Chicago’s last 14 contests overall, and I’m definitely looking at the over as my best Broncos vs. Bears prediction for Week 4.

Key Players Missing: S Eddie Jackson (questionable, foot), CB Josh Blackwell (questionable, hamstring)

Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears Odds, NFL Picks & NFL Best Bets

Picking up a side in the Broncos vs. Bears clash seems like the toughest NFL week 4 predictions to make. Both teams are 0-3 SU and ATS on the season, so trying to nail the winner feels like a coin flip. Their defensive units have been terrible thus far, so I would stick with the totals.

Betting Trends:

  • Broncos: 0-5 ATS in the last five road games as favorites
  • Bears: 4-1-1 ATS in the last six games vs. Broncos
  • Over/Under: Seven of Denver’s last eight games and 11 of Chicago’s last 14 have gone over

Bears +3.0 (+100) at BetMGM

The Bears need to run the ball as much as possible and take full advantage of the Broncos’ struggling run defense. Denver is dead last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (177.7) and 31st in yards allowed per carry (5.6). On the other side, Chicago’s defense ranks 30th in passing yards (285.7) and 20th in rushing yards (121.7), though the Bears allow just 3.5 yards per carry (tied-7th in the league). I’m expecting to see a tight contest, so my second Broncos vs. Bears pick would be Bears +3.0 (+100) at BetMGM

Over 46.0 Points (-110) at Caesars

As I’ve mentioned above, the Broncos just allowed 70 points and 726 total yards to the Dolphins, who had 43 carries for 350 yards. I know the Bears’ offense is far away from the Dolphins’ level, but Chicago should still find a way to move the ball against the Broncos. Chicago’s defense has been awful, too, surrendering 35.3 points per game, so I’m expecting the Broncos to surpass a 20-point mark. Hereof, my best NFL pick for the Broncos vs. Bears battle would be Over 46.0 Points (-110) at Caesars

Justin Fields Anytime TD Scorer (+100) at FanDuel

Justin Fields has only scored once on his own through the first three weeks of the season. Last year, he had eight rushing touchdowns, and I’m looking for Fields to step up and lead the way when the Bears take on the Broncos. Denver has allowed seven touchdowns on the ground so far this season, and I’ve said how bad the Broncos’ run D has been thus far.
