Fanatics Sportsbook And Casino Launches In New Jersey

The competitive igaming landscape in New Jersey just got busier with the announcement that Fanatics is now live in the Garden State.

Sports fans and casino players will now be able to download the Fanatics Sportsbook & Casino app on iOS and Android and begin their experience.

It was only on April 3, 2024, that Fanatics Betting and Gaming, a subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings Inc., completed its acquisition of the U.S. businesses of PointsBet. Those customers have now been migrated over to the Fanatics platform in New Jersey.

Fanatics Casino Now Live In Four U.S. States

New Jersey is the final PointsBet state and is the 20th state for the Fanatics Sportsbook and fourth for the Fanatics Casino.

The US online casino is embedded in the sportsbook app. Newly designed; it features a range of classic and popular casino favourites like slots, blackjack, roulette.

Fanatics Casino players in New Jersey can now access a range of IGT PlayDigital games, including classics like Cash Eruption, Fortune Coin and Cleopatra, as well as a host of MegaJackpots titles, proprietary table games and video poker content.

Live casino games via Fanatics’ partnership with Evolution include Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat, Roulette and Poker variants. There’s also a lineup of online slots available to players via the partnership with Evolution.

Fanatics Casino also has a partnership with Light & Wonder, which has provided the online casino with a wide range of the company’s first party titles, like 88 Fortunes, Jin Ji Bao, Endless Treasures, Dancing Drums Explosion And Ultimate Fire Link China Street. Fanatics Casino will also get access via Light & Wonder to third party aggregated content from some of the more substantial world studios such as Big Time Gaming, Reel Play and Hacksaw.

Fanatics Game Studios has also begun producing exclusive content, including the new Fanatics Blackjack and Fanatics Multi-Hand Blackjack, developed in partnership with Boom Entertainment.

In January, in an interview with Gambling.com, Fanatics’ Chief Product Officer Scot McClintic said their objective was to build a casino platform as part of the sportsbook app that a casino-only player would want to engage with.

Having Their Own Game Studio A Key

Through that, casino would be an “immersive experience, less of the standard tile pile and more focused on different experiences embedded in a more standard casino format that try to draw the user in and encourage exploration,” McClintic told us. “There’s a lot of inspiration there. We've hired a bunch of folks from HBO Max and other companies like that, that take a different perspective to what high volume content and content navigation should be to engage the customer to make it feel like the experience is very easy, even though there's a ton of content sitting behind the scenes.

“So you’ll see new games, trending slots, lots of collections and categories of different games, plans for live dealers … engaging animation … so we’ll try to flex different muscles to engage customers.”

The bottom line, according to McClintic: “From a philosophical point of view, we've taken the tack that we want our casino to be so good that it can be a standalone casino product that a casino-only player would want to engage with, versus a, this is just something under the sportsbook, you're only focused on sportsbook customers, you're not focused on casino customers.

“We've philosophically never taken that tact in any part of the app or any part of the product experience.”

Casino customers on the new platform in New Jersey can earn FanCash back on bets, spins and hands.
