PA Online Casinos Beat Summer Slump with Excellent Revenue
Mid-summer is traditionally a slow period for gambling sites all over, but PA online casinos weren’t having it. Figures reported by the Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board (PGCB) revealed that operators have almost reached $217 million in gross earnings throughout July.
This is the third-highest all-time figure, raising the bar even higher for upcoming months as many players return to the digital world after returning from the holidays.
31.20% Increase Over Last Year’s Income
The PGCB reported how online casino games yielded a monthly gross revenue totalling $174,318,463 during July, marking a solid 31.20% increase when compared to just over $132 million in July last year. As a result, the state of Pennsylvania’s coffers will be enriched by $75,545,125 in tax revenue.
Bally’s Pennsylvania registered the biggest growth, raking in $3,481,003 which is a whopping 141.31% increase when compared to $1,442,535 in July 2023. However, the biggest revenue was recorded by Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse, netting $64,006,434 in earnings. Last year it had reported just over $54 million throughout the same month.
Hollywood Casino is leading the pack with a substantial gap separating it from its next competitor, which is Valley Forge Casino Resort. The latter netted $45,503,850 this month. However, the figure remains impressive when you consider that this represents a 55.72% growth from the previous year.
Third place in revenue rankings is taken by Rivers Casino Philadelphia, operating BetRivers, with an undoubtedly more modest growth of 11.24% that sees its 2023 revenue of just under $27million reach just shy of the $30, million mark this year.
