Pennsylvania Gambling Industry Leading US Market
It’s official! The PA online casinos landscape is the strongest on the US market, forging ahead of top competing states like Michigan and New Jersey, reaching an all-time record high of $2.1 billion throughout 2023 and setting a high revenue trend that looks set to subsist on to the coming months.
The Keystone State vs Michigan & New Jersey
Soon after the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) announced record revenue for 2023, figures released for January showed that this was no mere fluke, but the result of strong inroads that the Keystone State has made in the industry.
Indeed, looking at PA January gambling figures, it’s not only the 2.7% increase since December 2023 that players and operators in the state should be celebrating. The figures show Pennsylvania racing ahead of top competitors Michigan and New Jersey with indisputably strong figures even in tax revenue.
Throughout January, PA almost reached a staggering $196 million in gambling tax revenue. On the other hand, Michigan’s January tax revenue stood at $30 million, while in New Jersey the state coffers raked in just under $63 million in gambling tax.
The Future of The Pennsylvania Gambling Market
With the PGCB restating its commitment towards growing the market, projections for the rest of 2024 look rosy as the gambling regulator has already announced further partnerships that are set to instigate market growth.
Most recently, new licenses were announced for Design Works Gaming, which is already live at BetMGM casino, as well as Supremeland and Roxor Gaming in moves that will undoubtedly see players in the Keystone State benefitting from an extended suite of gaming options at their favorite Pennsylvania online casinos.
