Pennsylvania Hits All-Time Record For 2023 Gambling Revenue
Gambling revenue for 2023 in the Keystone State hit a new record as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) released its official figures. A total of almost $5,70 billion was reported, resulting from the combined revenue of slot machines, table games, sports wagering, iGaming, video gaming terminals (VGTs) and fantasy contests.
Figures Show A 9.3% Increase From 2022
The figure of $5,697,218,115 represents a whopping increase of 9.3% above the 2022 total revenue, which amounted to $5,211,335,687. This resulted in an equally record-breaking tax generation of $2,343,399,312, an increase of $220,379,320 from the previous year.
As expected, the biggest revenue generators were the slot machines, which yielded $2,463,698,452. This represents a 3.05% increase when compared to 2022. Table games, however, recorded a 1.90% decrease in revenue from $990,568,468 to $971,742,564 when compared to 2022. This confirms what we’ve known all along - most Pennsylvania online casino players tend to favor slot machines over tables.
