Pennsylvania Smashes All Records For iGaming Revenue

The Keystone State has effortlessly beaten its own previous records with revenue for PA online casinos generated during the combined Fiscal Year 2023/2024 reaching a record level of almost $2 billion.

The exciting milestone was announced by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) in a press release that detailed a 27.16% increase from revenue for the 2022/2023 period for iGaming alone.

Almost $850 Million in Tax Generated from Online Gambling

Online gaming tax revenue from online slots and table games reached $841,658,212 throughout this fiscal year. The highest source of revenue was the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse, bringing in just over $750 million in revenue with a 15.89% increase in business compared to the previous year.

Valley Forge Casino Resort lags somewhat behind at just under $500 million. However, the operator reported a massive growth in revenue of 55.99% compared to the previous year. This was nothing compared to Harrah’s Philadelphia, which registered a 103.66% increase in revenue, clocking in at just over $100 million - the 2022/23 period had seen it reaching a significantly more modest $50 million.

However, Mounty Air Casino Resort and Mohegan Pennsylvania weren’t so lucky, registering an 18.48% and a 25.46% dip respectively. The latter’s switch from Unibet (which exited PA early this year) to a new online platform branded Play.MoheganPAcasino.com undoubtedly needs to be considered when comparing its annual performance. Next year’s figures will undoubtedly reveal a more accurate picture of the operator’s online performance.
