Eight weeks into the college football season, the quest continues for the 2022 Heisman Trophy. Who are we watching this week? Who is trending up or down?

Every Monday, at Gambling.com, we will look at some prominent names while maybe finding a gem or two to help with your college football betting. Anyway, here we go again.

C.J. Stroud - Ohio State Buckeyes (+100 on DraftKings)

C.J. Stroud enjoyed his bye week last week as Ohio State is preparing for Iowa on Saturday. This could be a test for Stroud versus a Hawkeye team that does not give up many points.

Hendon Hooker - Tennessee Volunteers (+500 on DraftKings)

Hendon Hooker had some dicey moments, but he led Tennessee to a wild 52-49 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Hooker did lose a fumble and throw an interception, but he tossed five touchdowns, 385 yards passing, and ran for 56 more. The win vaults Tennesee up to third in the polls. After a breather against Tennesse-Martin this Saturday, Hooker faces Kentucky and then currently top-ranked Georgia in three weeks.

Caleb Williams - USC Fighting Trojans (+800 on DraftKings)

Caleb Williams rebounded in a huge way against Utah. In defeat, Williams threw for 381 yards and five touchdowns. USC’s defense and play-calling let the Fighting Trojans down in the end. The 43-42 loss may signal the end of Williams’ run.

Blake Corum - Michigan Wolverines (+1200 on DraftKings)

Blake Corum got that big game against Penn State. Again, he efficiently handled that 25-30 carry load. Corum rushed for 166 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns. Michigan ran away in a 40-17 rout over Penn State.  Michigan gets a week off before facing Michigan State, which could be another Corum showcase.

Bryce Young - Alabama Crimson Tide (+1800 on DraftKings)

Bryce Young played relatively well against Tennessee last week and got them in a position to win, but Alabama missed the field goal. He slides back a little more.

Jahmyr Gibbs - Alabama (+2200 on DraftKings)

Jahmyr Gibbs is an exciting name to keep an eye on for the second half of the season. He's been a starter for Alabama for three weeks. He runs the ball well and scored three times against Tenessee on Saturday. Look out for him.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson - UCLA Bruins (+2500 on DraftKings)

Yes, Dorian Thompson-Robinson was off last week. However, Saturday will be, by far, UCLA’s biggest test of the season as they travel to face the No. 10 Oregon Ducks. Can Thompson-Robinson solve the Ducks’ defense and guide the Bruins to victory?

Max Duggan - TCU Horned Frogs (+4000 on DraftKings)

The quarterback thrived again versus Oklahoma State last week despite much pressure on him. Duggan combined for three touchdowns and no mistakes in TCU's 43-40 double-overtime win. This Saturday, he goes against the Kansas State Wildcats and Adrian Martinez.

Will Rogers - Mississippi State (+15000 on DraftKings)

Will Rogers wilted under the pressure as Mississippi State lost to Kentucky on Saturday. Rogers only threw for 203 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The signal-caller likely needed great numbers, which drops him out of the race.
