How to Read Odds on NFL Team Win Totals
This type of bet is a standard over/under wager. If the Cowboys win total projection is 10.5, you can bet on the over (11 wins or more) or the under (10 wins or less). The odds associated with the projections above, shown in American odds format, represent the likelihood of a team to surpass the projection in total wins.
The lower or more negative the number, the more likely it is that the team will have more wins than the projection according to oddsmakers. Higher numbers or positive odds indicate that a team has a 50% chance (+100) or less of reaching the win total projection.
A positive number also indicates how much you would win on a 1-unit bet. For example, +150 means you would win $150 on a $100 bet.
Conversely, negative odds (e.g., -120) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. For instance, -120 means you must bet $120 to win $100.
